I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say there isn't going to be a sequel for a very long time. What I would expect are more maps and addons.
2 Million sales are very likely for me, the word is spreading that playing this game online is just simply fantastic, hell, i have already persuaded 4 people on my buddy list and one of my best buddys to go buy this game.
Beleive the hype, Left 4 Dead delivers.
yeah.. valve will patch this game till its glitch-less and release enough content that they could easily release it as a sequel.

Great game, I see it doing 2mil +. I have already talked a couple of my buddies into getting it, and I am working on another. Word of mouth is a hell of a thing.

That's probably what they were planning on doing anyway. Unless they plan on making a ton of additions to the source engine and gameplay, why not just release more scenarios, weapons, and such to the current game?
I would love it if they released a sort of left 4 dead cell phone game.

The only thing I would consider a disappointment is the lack of versus maps...
I still play them over and over again.. but it would of been nice to have all four maps campaigns available.

The other 2 campaigns will be available for VS. within a month or two I'm sure...they need tweaking to be fair in VS, and it also stretches out the life of the game of course.
