So I downloaded the L4D demo a while back now and frankly it blew me away, I loved dead rising but its shoddy save system turned me off so I'm glad to see another zombie game in my collection (got it today!)

Will valve do a sequal do you think? Its reviews and sales seem pretty swell, it will hit a million before the years out and its not one of those run of the mill shooters so I think its legs will be better than those.

 

What are your lifetime predictions for L4D btw?

Where did u get the demo, and can u play online?

L4D will sell slightly more than 1.5 million copies, perhaps even 1.75 mill if the Euro numbers are adjusted (seems undertracked there).

Got the demo on marketplace, think they took it down the day the game came out, I think you can play online but none of my friends got the demo so I can't remember tbh. You don't think it can trend like Bioshock? I think 2 mill+

I am sure you can still get the PC demo on steam.

I think the demo is also on an OXM demo disc too.
The game has already sold fairly well, and I think positive word of mouth will keep moving copies. If it stays popular on Live, people on your friends list playing it is a big draw.

Hmm... I dont think I want to install Steam just for a demo.

So they took down the X360 demo from Xbox live? Awkward. Isnt other multiplayers like ET:QW still having their demo for download (although ET QW only let u play for 1 or 2 hours online).

L4D will have great legs but not reach 2 mill - the hype and word of mouth is smaller than for Bioshock.

No, both demo's of Left3Dead on the 360 and PC were taken down once the game came out.

but the install base is much, much bigger. This will sell at least 1.75 overall. So I basically agree with you. The game does have WoM though, so it might suprise some people..
