Forums - Sony - 1 game, difficult choice. Persona 4 or Valkyria Chronicles?

If anyone here has played both I would like to ask a couple questions that will make the decision a bit easier.

Which game has the better story?

How long before the game and/or storyline even gets started? P3 took over 2+ hours before I even got started, is it the same if not longer for P4? How long for VC?

Thanks for the answers so far everyone. P4 looks like the smart buy but at the same time Valkyria Chronicles looks beautiful and I heard the storyline is pretty good.

Persona 4 has the better story.

Persona 4 takes around 2 hours before you really get any battles, and around 4-5 before you start controlling your everyday stuff and when you go into the shadow world.

The story for VC starts almost immediately

further but unasked for info: Persona 4 is longer (still haven't beaten it at 60 hours) while VC is around 30 hours. Both have very involved and interesting battle systems, but VC has considerably less grinding involved.

...

You probably spent 100+ hours in P3 FES i think it would be better to get VC as it's much diffrent in style while 4 shares a lot of things in common with P3.

And you are much more probable of finding P4 few months from here than VC on shelves.

This is pretty much exactly what I am thinking too. VC is already vanishing from my local stores while P4 just came out.

I also just played P3 FES a couple of months ago and while I do want to play the game, is it good for me to jump back into another 70+ hour game that is slow to get started? I used to do this on the regular when I was younger, but now I barely have the time.

That is why I just recieved The Last Remnant, which is about 30+ compared to 50-70+ on Tales of Vesperia

P4, you should be able to pick up a copy of VC heavily discounted in the next couple months, since it was a holiday release they probably printed a lot of copies in the first run which should result in an abundance of copies being dumped online cheap.

Dunno about that.  People had trouble finding a copy launch week because nobody really ordered any.

Persona 4, cheaper and worth the money.

This is SO easy, Persona 4.

See, this is what I heard.

People on the forums were already talking about not being able to find VC in their stores. My local Gamestop has a couple in stock right now.

I am heavily leaning towards this game because of its length and as people said here, it has a better storyline, but I don't know if I could do another 2+ hour introduction right now after finishing P3 FES only a couple of months ago.

At least it's not as bad as the PS1 and PS2 days. Much harder to decide between JRPGs.
