Forums - Gaming - Xbox 360 vs. PS3 Deathmatch

What do you think?  I'm all for it.

What I'm talking about is my wish for Microsoft and Sony to work together to give a multiplatform game the ability to play cross platform multiplayer matches.  I think it might make a small boost for software sales and be mutually beneficial.  Though, I'm sure nothing big, or it may not be beneficial to them at all, but I do want a game that can do that for purely selfish reasons.

In my circle of friends, most everyone has Xbox 360's.  The only two that don't, are my two brothers in-law who have PS3's.  We are pretty close and love to game.  We would definitely get any console game that we could actually play together.

Does anyone else have the same wish, or would enjoy pummeling owners of the other console?  Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is an example of a game that I think it would work well on.  They could have games that ust mix up everyone, and then a certain list with games that are team deathmatch of PS3 vs. Xbox 360.  Then they could keep some overall stats of 360 players vs. PS3 players.  Would be fun to see who was dominating who.

Would anyone else like the friendly competition and ability to play with friends and family who own the other console?

That would be awesome, but Sony and Microsoft are at each other's throats too much for it to happen. It would require something along the lines of the MGO system, because XBL can't play against PSN, it would have to be using third party servers.

I agree it's not a very likely thing to ever happen. But some people would appreciate it. Hey, even Marvel and DC had cross overs. 8)
