Also, I do find it quite hilarious the number of people that have hopped on this game's jock since it was announced for the Wii.

I distinctly remember the lack of interest in Monster Hunter Freedom, 2, and to a lesser extent 2G (this was released after the Wii announcement), even though the games sold well. There wasn't tons of info on new monsters and environments being posted, and when they were, not a lot of people cared, but as soon as it's on the Wii, huge threads are being made for the game, and everyone is excited.

So my question is:

Have people even played the game? Any of them? MH1, 2, g, MHF1, 2, or 2G?

Cause if not, I fail to see how you can be excited for a sequel in a game of a series you haven't played.

>_>

After i know what's Monster hunter Freedom 2 ,I decided to buy PSP to play MHF2.

I want MH ,i didn't want PSP.MHF2's only game that i play on PSP.

So i'm very happy  to play this game on Wii. :)

I played MHF1. I plan on getting MHF2 when it releases in the U.S. I also plan on getting MH3 if it releases in the U.S or not. I played MHF1 after the announcement of MH3 though so I don't know if that counts.

MHF2 is already in the U.S.

Do you mean MHP2G? That's coming over as MH: Unite this spring, but Monster Hunter Freedome 2 is already out.

Did you enjoy MHF1 though?

Yeah I meant MHP2G/Unite. And yes I enjoyed MHF1 alot. Actually its probably my second favorite psp game. I should buy MHF2. I've been planning to for a while, but never really gotten the chance with all these games coming out.  How good is it compared to MHF1?

The gameplay is essentially the same, but there's more missions, new monsters, new weapon paths, armor, items and importantly quests.

Also, they add background loading, which decreses load times on the game tons...  A must buy.  Also, all your stuff from MHF2 will be transferrable to MH: Unite (I'm not sure if MH1 stuff does though.)

Hm I might buy it sometime next week. Thanks

Well, the series sold millions of units in Japan, the Wii version looks superb (graphically) and in general the game seems to be really good. Why shouldn't we be excited?

I didn't play the previous games, by the way - but why should I? I don't even own a PSP

You know, if Nintendo announced Zelda for Xbox360 most 360 owners would be pretty hyped, even thoese who never played a Zelda game before.

I was also excited for Smash Bros. on N64 and Final Fantasy on SNES, even though I didn't play a Final Fantasy game before.

Monster Hunter G (Wii)

Thanks for posting that scan. Before seeing it, I was just about to point out that the scan of the Famitsu cover in the OP said nothing about Monster Hunter G coming to Wii.

Edit: Doh! It is there, on the cover. The color of the printing made it hard for me to read. I think I need more sleep ...

Maybe because like... nobody owns a PSP?  While lots of people own a Wii.

Also... i don't know.  How were people excited for Final Fantasy 7 instead of Final Fanasy 1-6.  The games are totally self contained i thought?

Even in linear story driven games sequels often beat the first in the series.

How many PS3 fans are excited about Killzone 2... without playing Killzone 1?  (Or even worse, people excited for Killzone 2 who did play Killzone 1!)

Wow.

Claude/Fernando are fanning non-existant flames.

No one is damage controlling anything. MH3 was announced over 12 months ago for the Wii... It's a little too late.

When someone's first reply is pretty much akin to "HUR HUR MONSTER HUNTER 3 COMING TO THE PS3 YOU STOOPID FANBOYS HUR HUR" in a thread that's not even about MH3, it's damage control. This is like a delayed reaction, because the GFAQs board's been using the "port" damage control since the day the game jumped ship to Wii. It's no longer for the PS3 so people have to make themselves feel better somehow.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

BTW, if it was downported to the PSP later on, I wouldn't mind. That system proved it can sell those games, and I would be a hypocrite if I insisted the Wii can handle downgraded HD games, but the PSP can't handle downgraded Wii games.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
