Nobody can be excited for a game even though they haven't played the series yet? WTF? That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard.

No, the problem is people are excited for the game just because it's on the Wii.  If people wanted to get into the series, they could play the last six games in the series.

I'm not saying "don't be excited", I'm saying "Don't hop on the game's jock since it's on Wii now".

What if people don't want the other games? Or they don't own a PS2 or PSP? What if they just want to start with MH3? The same goes for every other series.

If they don't want the other games, then they certainly will not want MH3. On any console.

And I don't see why or how anyone would not have a PS2.

Well that's just not true.  There are plenty of people who refuse to buy old games when a newer version/sequel is coming out that's going to be better.

Also... I mean... have you ever SEEN a copy of a PS2 monster hunter game?

Ever?

I haven't... and i go to used gamestores... a lot.

Why would someone want the PS2 version when online is a decent part of it.. where it's like impossible to beat some monsters with out it? Why pay for a game where nobody is going to be online... when you need online to complete everything.

Heck it's not even like niche games where you could find someone on this site to play with you as almost nobody even on this site owns the PS2 games.

There are tons of reasons to not want to go with the PS2 version.

Which... if anything you'd think DJmeister would know... (and likely does, but is letting bitterness get in the way.)

He's just making a bitter fanboy argument.  Don't encourage him.

I see a few copies of the original MH (not 2 or G) frequently, but it's not too hard to find.

Although, if someone is interested in the series, then why wouldn't want to see where the series came from?

I just gave you like a bunch of reasons.  The biggest being Multiplayer is NEEDED to play the entire game and there is like zero chance to play multiplayer.

Listen I played the original or should I say bought the original Monster Hunter on the PS2. I loved it for about a few hours and got turned off at the fact Capcom didn't include voice chat support. This game would be awesome to plan tactics through voice rather than text messaging or messaging others. A weird and dumb feature something that the 360 would definitely take advantage of with voice chat if they was to ever make a port for that console.

The PSP aspects were flawed based on their control scheme, most of the attacks were weird, everything was mapped out for the hardcore to adapt to rather than for a casual to pick up. Most of the monster hunting was confusing and required some sort of multi-player help to get past and such. This game alone relies on the multi-player, Capcom needs to see this and take notice. Also its weird how they make online servers in Japan and make the Americans suffer from Ad-hoc on the PSP versions. The only version that provided online was and as I stated above was the PS2 version of Monster Hunter.

I certainly will try out the Wii version of the original Monster Hunter just for the simple fact Capcom has no other choice but to adapt to the Wii-mote. And this will certainly help out the camera issues hopefully.

This game alone will get some Wii-owners to try it out and see if they like it or not.

I will be waiting for MH-Tri since that is the one that Capcom is planning to build from the ground up. I don't know how the online support will work but MH-Tri will be awesome.

Actually youre wholly inaccurate.

I've never played the game multi-player.  Always played by myself.  And like I've been saying, the game isn't going to change much between MH1 and MH3.  And the game is very very far off.  I mean, the game is 40 percent done, so it won't be out for another 6-12 months, and then localization will take another 6-12 months (Actually, it took them over a year to localize MHP2G, it's coming over as MH: Unite in the spring).  Seems like a lot of drama to go through for a game that could be close to 2 years from gracing American shores.

>_>

May as well spend 20 bucks to buy the original, or buy the PSP games and see what you're so excited about.

@DMeisterJ

I know what I'm excited about. I like the whole aspect of the game, the whole monster hunting and doing little side missions. But you have to clearly say this game is flawed without having online support. You should know this..And your right about stating if Wii owners are so hyped up about this game they should just get the PSP or PS2 incarnations. But what if they are happy about the announcement alone, what if the Wii-controls are better suited for them, what if they don't have a PS2 or PSP.

This Wii version will certainly fill their void. And who said the game would be $50. And its a direct port from the PS2 incarnation.

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition released probably for $50 or $40 if I can recall and a month later went down to $20.

I'm not going against or anything but this game or MH-Tri alone should have Wii owners wanting this. And you should thank them for this, cause the more users or fans grab this the more we will see more releases of Monster Hunter, hopefully they don't milk the franchise.

The Wii version actually doesn't control all too awesome if you read the previews.  Especially because it doesn't use WM+, it's just (sorry) a "waggle-fest".  At least that's how it was described in a preview I read.  That's why they added Classic Controller support, and it'd probably control better traditionally anyway.  It wouldn't gain too much by using gestures and such.

So it's not about controls.

Pricing isn't it either, MHF and MHF2 are old, and can be found for 30 bucks or so.

You didn't like MHF or MH, you're not going to like MH3.  Plain and simple.

First it is about controls that was my gripe. If there was a lock on feature it would certainly help. And a link to the Wii controls not being to well would certainly help out my decision.

I did like the original Monster Hunter on the PS2, why because it had online support.

Multi-player is the key to this game...

You have a PSP and a PS3, so you'll be able to play MH: Unite online using "Ad-hoc party".

^_-

And hold on while I find a link... Or if I can.

That will not work, you clearly know this. We tried it ourselves and the PC's wouldn't let us.

The preview says that you can shake the nunchuck, or just press A for context actions, or shake the nunchuck to attack, or press A to do that instead too.

Also, here are the controls.

It's complex, to say the least.
