Forums - Nintendo - Monster Hunter G ported to Wii... Famitsu Scan...

And how do you know that? What about the thousands who bought SF2 for the VC already and many more who will buy the game. The game is already done and will sell much better than DRWii for sure. They havent got a proper plan for the Wii, they should have started making a SF4 Wii version since the beginning.

But we know Capcom always joins the wrong side, I mean DS didnt receive almost any games from Capcom, I wouldnt be too excited for their Wii support either.
And remember SF4 would sell a lot more than Dead Rising. Most of the people who play SSBB play it either with a GC controller or a Classic controller, that userbase who likes fighting games is enough to justify a port.

 Trestres is that you?

 @Lord
That would be a better point if the Wii version was trying to use the Dead Rising engine, or if AI was the only problem Dead Rising Wii was having. I am not saying it would have all the issues Dead Rising does, but it would take a lot of work.

Also, I do find it quite hilarious the number of people that have hopped on this game's jock since it was announced for the Wii.

I distinctly remember the lack of interest in Monster Hunter Freedom, 2, and to a lesser extent 2G (this was released after the Wii announcement), even though the games sold well. There wasn't tons of info on new monsters and environments being posted, and when they were, not a lot of people cared, but as soon as it's on the Wii, huge threads are being made for the game, and everyone is excited.

So my question is:

Have people even played the game? Any of them? MH1, 2, g, MHF1, 2, or 2G?

Cause if not, I fail to see how you can be excited for a sequel in a game of a series you haven't played.

>_>

Well, the series sold millions of units in Japan, the Wii version looks superb (graphically) and in general the game seems to be really good. Why shouldn't we be excited?

I didn't play the previous games, by the way - but why should I? I don't even own a PSP

You know, if Nintendo announced Zelda for Xbox360 most 360 owners would be pretty hyped, even thoese who never played a Zelda game before.

I was also excited for Smash Bros. on N64 and Final Fantasy on SNES, even though I didn't play a Final Fantasy game before.

Well, MH is a series that is very unfriendly to Western design and is quite niche here in the US. It's a love/hate game.

@Gnizmo: Who is that???

@axumblade: man, I dont care if they are ports! I care that they come here, I want to play SF4 and Im asking for an HD port lol. I know Zack and Wiki and RE4 are great, I have played them, I have to buy Okami, but it's the truth Capcom always sides with the wrong side, last time it was Gamecube getting exclusives. This time is Wii and DS getting good games, but the majority of good gfames on the HD consoles.

I will pay even 100 dollars for a sf4 port on the Wii :O

The first two times it was released nobody had heard of it.

The last 3 times it was released it was on an unpopular handheld that most people don't own.

Would people who never owned or liked handhelds or played pokemon be pumped if it came to a home console?  Most definitly.

You keep on acting as though nobody owns a PSP. As far as I've heard, the PSP was JUST recently passed by the Wii. So please stop acting as though the PSP doesn't sell.

OT: The game probably won't sell as much as the PSP version will sell in Japan. The only other system that would outsell the PSP game would be if they made a DS version of the game.

World Wide.  Including Japan where the PSP gets all the love...

Also... PSP owners don't really buy games as much as home console users.

Furthermore the Wii's base is greatly expanding...

Most of the people on this site don't have a PSP.  Hence yeah... people getting excited about it.

Heck look at my example.  Pokemon from DS to Wii.

Many many more people have DS yet TONS of people who haven't played Pokemon would be pumped.

Why?  Because it's on a system they own.

I wasn't saying the Wii userbase isn't expanding. I'm saying that just because Monster Hunter is a popular game on the PSP, doesn't mean it's going to be a popular game on the Wii. It very well could sell great, especially considering piracy being an issue for the PSP but I simply just don't see Monster Hunter Wii being nearly as great of a seller as Monster Hunter for the PSP. Especially considering that the rest of the world, besides Japan (where the PSP still has 4 million more owners than the Wii), seems to not really care about the Monster Hunter series. X_x You can say that it's because the rest of the world doesn't own PSP's as much as you'd like, I'm simply saying that I don't see it being the amazing seller that some think it will be.

Also, I'm bringing this from several arguments that I have been on the receiving end of. Internet hype, especially in forums, does not necessarily mean the game will be popular.

Did I say it was going to sell well?  I actually expect it to "bomb" in the west.

DJmesiter asked why people on this board cared...

I gave him the reason why.

PSP is unpopular, and a lot of people here don't have PSPs.

Djmeister is just a little bitter that a lot of people are suddenly interested in a game series he loves that isn't popular in the west just because it's on the Wii... a system he doesn't particularly care for.

Vs say when its on Sony systems... because he foolishly lets brand identity effect his enjoyment of games.

Most of the supposed problems stem from trying to get around using the system to put all those zombies in.

Nobody can be excited for a game even though they haven't played the series yet? WTF? That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard.

No, the problem is people are excited for the game just because it's on the Wii.  If people wanted to get into the series, they could play the last six games in the series.

I'm not saying "don't be excited", I'm saying "Don't hop on the game's jock since it's on Wii now".

What if people don't want the other games? Or they don't own a PS2 or PSP? What if they just want to start with MH3? The same goes for every other series.
