COD 4 has sold 11 million thus far on PS3 and 360, COD WOW has neared GeOW 2 numbers and on top of that there is another million sales for the PS3 version. So with that said is it safe to now say COD is the most well known shooter franchise out there? The next COD will be made by Infinity Ward so it's only going to get stronger and stronger.

GeOW 2 was hyped a lot and has sold great numbers but come on, COD WOW is only 300k behind and it is multi-plat so PS3 could have got some of those 360 sales. Resistance 2.........hehe.

unitl on one console it outstrips halo 3 in sales its still second best .... though do like it better then halo... but rainbowsix vegas 2 better then both

Yeah what a fast rise to fame but it was Modern Warfare which did it, just a great game and deserved the sales.

Thats harsh though ne? COD games are multi-plat so many of the 360 sales could go to PS3, I think it's just time everyone admits COD is now top of the crop.

I am a call of duty fanboy , cant denied it, but FARCRY 2 is a better game from COD:WAW...

On topic now, i agree with the op, the call of duty series is by far the most well known shooting series out there. Only a new great Halo can beat this, but i am not sure about bungies current program abilities of doing that...
