My 20gb Premium died twice - and MS repaired them both times for free. It was during my second time that I was like 'Shoot, I need something more reliable.' So, I bought an Arcade and kept the 20gb drive. However, I ended up snagging a 120gb drive too. So, I had two 360s - and both worked good. I ended up giving my son the Premium for Christmas - he's only 5 and I know his friends are gonna be soooo jealous - and a few games. When it dies and if MS doesn't pay for it, I'll just let him play on my Arcade.

I have no idea what you are talking about... the RROD extends the warranty to 3 years, so it seems as though you wasted your money.

I did however buy another 360 for my 7 year old son for Christmas this year, but only because I want him to leave mine alone.

Didn't they extend the warranty kinda recently? Maybe that happened to him way early in xbox 360 life since he said his warranty expired. None of the first page posts seemed negative in anyway, seems like they were just telling their own stories and future decisions.

Good idea really, they'll be real cheap after Christmas.. I have a feeling a lot of retailers are going to try and recoup some money this year after the holidays, because a lot of them are on the brink of bankruptcy this year (i.e. Circuit City)

Since there are apparently so many repeat buyers of the 360, is the attach ratio at like 15 now?

my reason is i like more of the on the desk play like a PC type style, so i have it with my PC and hooked up to a 19" HDTV that doubles as my PC monitor. but sometime the girls like to come over and we all play and it gets hard cramming all of us in like that so I'm getting one for my main TV so when they come over we want be elbow to elbow.

I gotcha, that's a good reason too.  I think it's pretty cool that you are a girl who plays and has a bunch of girl friends that come over and play as well... just goes to show that games really do cross that gender line nowadays.  Video games have really become pretty mainstream now I suppose.  Nothing wrong with that...
