Forums - Sales - How much of a boost would Wii give Resident Evil 5?

We all know that RE4 passed 1 million on Wii which I still think is amazing. However I didnt know that even The Umbrella Chronicles passed 1 million!

Resident Evil is easily the most popular 3rd Party core franchise on Wii.
(Though I could be wrong =P Ive been getting "facts wrong lately)
Its Japan numbers are also impressive where gaming isnt what it use to be. 100k week one in Japan for UC is pretty damn good.

I think its safe to say Wii owners are starving for Resident Evil 5.

So how many extra sales do you think RE5 could get out of a port for Wii? RE4 pushed GCN and it looked better than the PS2 port so if they wanted to the developors could also push the Wii graphics for all you graphic whores out there.

I'm afraid you will probably get slammed by lots as this has been done to death already.

My guess on sales would be about 2million, if it launched before HD console versions.

If it was exclusive possibly 4million with the right advertising.

Looking at the visual powerhouse that RE5 is...and that much superior versions of the game are found on ps3/360...i am not sure wii version would sell as much as the other 2. maybe 4 million for 360, 2 mil for ps3 and 1.5 for wii...

2 million atleast. I'm guessing the HD versions will each sell about that much.

@ disolitude It depends imo. If the only think that would be downgraded is the visuals, and other aspects similar to that, and it plays basically the same with all of the same content I could see the Wii version competing due to controls being impressive. If it is gimped then I would agree with you on the 1.5 million.

2 million for xbox360 RE5 is madness...the game will sell over a million first week. more like 4-5

Wii version wouldn't fire out the gate as fast as the ps360 but would probably see good legs down the road.

Id love the best of both worlds. Motion controls were very well done in RE4...but amazing visuals, good online party system, VOICE CHAT!!! :)...are things this game will need to be enjoyable.
