Hehe I never wanted to say that Crysis on really high settings doesn't look amazing I readily believe that. On the other hand from the shots I have seen it only looks sublime if you have jungle or the view over the island. Which is simply something Crytek can do better than anyone else.

If you look at the animated people or the indoor levels Killzone2 lighting seems more impressive to me. (Yeah its not even out) On these occassions, the Crysis videos looked strictly good but not more. I mean it would be weird if it was any other way. But the island views are amazing.

:o i did not know that. i only have 17'' 4:3 monitor and 8800gts 512 so i probally would need to use $500 to play on that settings but i wouldnt of bought crysis any way.

i spent alot of my 5 hours of crysis demo playing with the physics. put 1 of the trucks into the building + 2 gasoline refil things and make it explode :D sp was just garbage.

fun > graphics? :)

Mate watch these vids not jungle at all. In fact thses are indoor and night time. This kills killzones lighting and indoor areas.

meh i lose hope of playing this game at maximum settings with my current vga card.

No it doesn't the monster outside is amazing but even if you watch the indoor environment in HD its not better than the Unreal Engine (Gears, Bioshock) or what was shown for Killzone etc. And thats not really surprising, Crysis can use huge amounts of RAM and VRAM to put gigantic amounts of plant and other details in the environment and use very detailed textures. But in lighting that doesn't help so much. Even as I love Crytek as the only German developer who counts something, they are not exactly Epic.

That's great, but my 8800gt can chug quite a bit when setting most of the video settings to max.

It looks great sure, but until hardware and prices allow many more people to run the engine that well with a smooth frame rate, so what?

You should use a more current video. I'd say the indoor parts looked better in the full game in that same area.

OK. PC lovers (and RICH guys) had their fun already on this thread, now in all honesty, let's be FAIR.

Let's do a little exercise, shall we?


Take any game currently available for both HD consoles and PC, then run those games on a PC that matches both consoles in proccessing power and graphics card, same amount of VRAM and everything, then let's find out which system looks and runs better the same game.

Another part of the exercise would be if you could find some games for PC that meeting the requirements I wrote ^above^ match or surpass the best graphics a console can currently offer (ie. Gears 2, MGS4, Uncharted).
