Kind of sketch with just 0 posts but alright. I'm gonna go off on a limb here and say that you have a monitor.

www.newegg.com

For everything there's that. It's very cheap and sometimes they have great deals.

Find a Tigerdirect.com outlet store then, if you around one. There's a whole bunch where I live but I don't know if it's a national chain or not.

Go to Office Max or Office Depot and find a cheap HP, you'll have to deal with mail in rebates (which are a bitch) but you should be able to pick something up around $400-500, then slap in a budget videocard and you should be set for a couple years.

Then you won't do well in your search.    If you want a gaming PC for that cheap, you need to build it yourself and buy the components from sites like Newegg.com or Tigerdirect.com.  Both are highly respectable, affordable and their customer service and return policies kick the snot out of standard retail chians.

You can also go to Wal-mart and buy one of their $500.00 HP computers and upgrade it after that but you're dealing with a whole host of problems going that route.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Tiger direct and Comp USA are now the same corperation same prices that can expand your potential store locations a bit. You really cant beat new egg for prices and service though.

What do you want to play? Its hard to give a recomendation without something to target specs on. Its also hard to fing a good deal on a gaming pc if your not going to build your own. If your dead set on retail you may be stuck with best buy or frys if you have one close to you.

That only applies to 16 stores in Florida and Texas.  All other CompUSA stores are unchanged from the Systemax Inc. acquisition.

Did not know that. Most of the Comp USA's around here just went out of buissness.

You need to build it yourself if you want a real gaming PC for that price. The video card is the most important part and also the most lacking part on prebuilt systems.

If the graphics are Intel, don't buy it. If the graphics are AMD (ATI) or Nvidia make sure it is a recent card of midrange or above.

Acceptable:

Nvidia Geforce 7900 series
Nvidia Geforce 8600 series
Nvidia Geforce 8800 series
Nvidia Geforce 9600 series
Nvidia Geforce 9800 series
Nvidia Geforce GTX260
Nvidia Geforce GTX280

ATI Radeon X19x0 Series
ATI Radeon HD26x0 Series
ATI Radeon HD29x0 Series
ATI Radeon HD36x0 Series
ATI Radeon HD38x0 Series
ATI Radeon HD45x0 Series
ATI Radeon HD46x0 Series
ATI Radeon HD48x0 Series

Anything else won't play games to the desired standard.
