Forums - Nintendo - Will we see an Infinity Ward COD on the wii?

No look its obvious right, theres one cheque to pay for ALL development. LTNK is saying exactly that.

Another example, if applicable, might be Shaun White. If SW Wii earns much more than PS360 versions of the game (as a whole) makes a profit.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I'm no businessman but the argument of all-in costs makes no sense to me. If a version doesn't sell it won't be continued. There had to be distinguisable separate dev costs for the wii version: it has to make a stand-alone profit to justify the next iteration.

all depends on how much wii version needs to sell to make a profit. if the project did make a profit then i see no reason in not doing a wii version. take shaun white snowboarding. just because it made more on wii than the HD version doesnt mean the series should be wii exclusive from now on

The question was... DID THEY? I knew theyre still making a profit on this one the reasons for advertisements, advertisements are expensive you know. But I doubt Infinity Ward will make the Wii version unless its a multi-million seller and making a cash flow for Activision. Now that I think about it, I think Activision was expecting too much.

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

Yushire: you seem awfully invested in a game you have no intention of buying. Either buy the damn game or shut up, please.

so you're saying that if the PS360 version of SW loses money but the wii sells enough for a group profit, next time we'll see all 3 versions again? I don't think so.

I dk, if i sell 3 foods ok, 2 are cheese burgers and one is fish taco. Fish doesn't sell but cheeseburgers are selling like the ipod = i make a profit.

I still keep making fish tacos bcoz i don't want to risk not spreading my bets for the fish taco fans. This is especially true if fish tacos cost alot less to make than cheeseburgers.

get it, got it, sorted, sweet

i did my part and baught it, did u do ur part? :)

I think we dont even need to do our part, 3rd parties still keeps ignoring the Wii even how much we convinced them. What we must do was to wait and see how it unravels. Cant wait till 2009 and 3rd parties kneel to their knees :)

WTH?? If  games won't sell that well because of Wii owners not buying Wii versions and the sales are very minor as apposed to an HD version then do you really expect more Wii multiplats in the long run???

OT: The platforms for the game haven't been announced????

Maybe not, depends on 2 things ofcourse plus whatever else i don't calculate into it. First, market share of system, Second, total profit from each systems version plus whether legs are keeping it above water.

or you could be like Woolworths and hedge your bets by selling everything then go bust.

if there's not a sustainable market for your fish tacos, you aint gonna keep selling them.

i take it you don't own your own business...
