Ghostbusters was the unreal engine I dunno what kind...

@thelordoftheknight-----> so some engine in HD console is possible on the Wii?

As long as they can be made to fit the structure and memory of the Wii. Not sure if U3E can fit the Wii, but some developer is trying.

So what Epic, Infinity Ward, RE5 developers and Street Fighter IV developers says about the performance of the Wii was pointless then?

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

Depends on what they said.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

@OP - Hard to say, I think COD 5 needs to hit 500K on the Wii to prove sustainable for COD6. Of course, IW has been kinda standoffish on Wii development. Time will tell.

And no I still havent gotten the game yet. I plan on after holidays cool off and money becomes a little more expendible.

RE5 developer says quote on quote, "The wii cant handle RE5 title screen" soI dunno what depends on they said theyre talking about. Most of what they say are just bashing the Wii.

Oh, that. Pointless. Even if it showed a bunch of enemies running around, like Dead Rising, it would just be a matter of scaling them down.

i did my part and baught it, did u do ur part? :)

I did my part in ignoring that utterly pathetic attempt at a game.   If WaW wii is any vision of future CoD Wii games then I hope they don't bother making them.

does that mean you didn't even play it?  Offline or online?

I'm really disappointed in the Wii version of WaW's sales. CoD3 sold pretty decently at Wii's launch, and after getting snubbed last year of a port of the stellar 4, not to mention all the clamor for a serious hardcore Wii game, you'd think that WaW on the Wii would be selling AT LEAST on pace with the PS3 version.

It hasn't even been in the top 50 Wii games these past few weeks, thats really pathetic for a system that has sold over... HOLY $#!%... i just realized that the Wii has surpassed 20 million units in America alone! Daaaammmmnnnnn.....

Wow, that's really a slap in the face to WaW... best shooter and online multiplayer game on the Wii and its selling worse than most shovelware games. There truly is no God!

Edit: O.T. I think (hope) the Wii does indeed get a port or original version of CoD6, especially since Treyarch already did the dirty work of getting the CoD4 engine running on the Wii, and pretty well at that, so there's no excuse for Infinity Ward or some other developer not to make a Wii version.  2009 will be the year most major companies finally make a shift towards the Wii and bring alot of their major games/franchises along with them.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

NightDragon, I've seen a lot of anecdotal references that the game was poorly supplied.

Everybody I know that works retail in the industry says they've received a few small shipments at first which sold out and just recently received a big shipment and sold out of it too.

It seems the Wii gamers are doing their part but either Activision, their distributors or the retail partners are not doing their end to help sales.

In America, sales are practically even paced with CoD3. Given the much larger install base, this leads me to accept the idea that the hold up is not the gamers as either Activision, the distributors or the retail partners ordered the same amount of CoD: WaW as they did CoD3.

I think it means anger issues. People should at least play something for an hour or two before deciding it's rats.

Yes.

www.spacemag.org - contribute your stuff... satire, comics, ideas, debate, stupidy stupid etc.

Hmmm... you might be right there Viper1... but in the retail stores I frequent the most (Best Buy and Walmart) they always had plenty of copies of the game on shelves, except for this week of course, since most stores have little stock left and some look like war zones *cough* Walmart *cough*

I picked up the 360 version @ BB on Sunday for $35, practically a steal. If I only had the Wii i would definitely have gotten the Wii version, tried it at my friends house and it plays surprisingly well, online is great too.
