I recently have done a thread on my disappointment with the difficulty of gears 2.

Some folks suggested I go up to hardcore as epic had said they made an extra mode to make the game easier (I was playing it on medium) so I did.

Well the difference is amazing I mean it is so much tougher but not silly tougher.

You basically die or survive simple as that.

The AI is excellent (I play single mode mostly), the game play is top notch, overall excellent.

I know some folks might say jeez this is old but I haven’t had a lot of gaming time last six weeks, very busy in work.

Anyway just my observations on the game I am only at roadblocks at the moment (just after the tunnel) so still don’t know how far I will get on hardcore.

Just to add this is not about gears been the best game ever or anything just my opinion on a game I am playing.

I am sure other folks would have had the same feeling regardless of which game they were playing on whatever console.

Gears 2 is much easier than Gears 1, hands down. Hardcore in Gears 2 feels like Casual in Gears 1!

But whatever, I'm glad you're enjoying the game much more now! The real thing is Insane though, some enemy spawns are so annoying sometimes.

I may try that as the game is quite good.

Its seldom I play a game twice but this one I would.

So Insane is pretty much like Insane in Gears 1? Hardcore in Gears 2 was quite easy for me compared to Gears 1, especially since it had no annoying stuff like the Reavers on top of the train or lambent wretches (I much prefer tickers, thank you!).

Yeah, I'd say it's about the same, but there are more annoying spots in Gears 2 compared to Gears 1. First of all, sometimes, when you're in the Hollow, some Tickers will just spawn from nowhere and run at you while you're getting shot by a ton of Locusts! Second of all... I can't quite remember (I think it had something to do with way too long checkpoints)! xD

Once you get the sniper and keep it until the end of the game, you'll be OK though!
