I'm trying to fine tune my Japanese predictions for the rest of the year...but I can't do it yet because I can't find reliable Japanese release dates for stuff like Galaxy, Brawl, Wii Fit, Lost Odyssey, White Knight Story, etc.

Is alot of stuff being kept quiet until TGS or are there just few reliable English sources on Japanese dates?  I suspect it is both...

www.gamefaqs.com has mostly the most accurate Japanese releases IMO ;)

And yes for Super Smash Brawls, White Knight Story not even Mario Galaxy a release date has been announced.. Mario Galaxy says somewhere in 2007 according to Famitsu. I also think they'll wait until the Tokyo Game Show with announcements. Although Treasure Island Z aka Zack & Wicky has already been announced to release on 25 October and Opoona has been postponed until 1 November, since today.

Wikipedia. If it's announced, some obsessed fan will have the date up in minutes. Oh, and sources are cited too, so it's like meta-release-dates. Most of those games you mentioned do not have defined release dates at all.
