As of the week ending Jan. 2, 2010, I predict:

Wii: 80
360: 38.5

Preface: I'll admit I looked really closely at TheSource's and Stever89's predictions while formulating my own, but I'm my own man. On the other hand, they're actually good at this while I'm groping in the dark, but still! It may look like I'm mostly hewing closely to TheSource, but really I was going to go higher in general until Stever89 pulled me back down.
Wii: 80m (34.35m sold)
I feel that once again the Wii's sales are going to depend mainly on the Wii's production.
360: 38.5m (11.10m sold)
On the one hand, the console isn't getting any younger; on the other, its price drop has given it a real second wind. Another (in response to a PS3 price drop) would only help.
PS3: 31.5m (11.99m sold)
I was tempted to put this one at 1m higher than TheSource for no tangible reason. I compromised.
DS: 132m (34.86m sold)
This one was really tough for me to decide. Sales in Japan were really dropping off before the DSi, but on the other hand they seem to REALLY like the DSi. Still, when there's already one DS for every five human beings in Japan, can the boost really last a whole year? I wish I knew how big a hit it will be elsewhere; but betting against Nintendo's handheld juggernaut is always dangerous. I wouldn't be at all surprised by 129 or 135+.
PSP: 55m (11.63m sold)
Looking at the charts, I don't see that it has lost enough momentum to justify TheSource's prediction. Hopefully, this isn't monumental ignorance on my part. I can see it dropping back to 2007 levels, but TheSource's prediction is 2 million lower than that.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.
