 Games are the only thing that matter this generation. Reviews are shown to be an archaic way of judging a games worth though. When a game sells over 10 million but doesn't break a 90 on metacritic something is clearly wrong.

This is odd... according to this, the PS3 had more 9.0 scoring games released this year than their total lifespan according to Metacritic and Gamerankings...

I want to see graphs like this for each generation and see if the inverse relationship between installed base and higher percentage of crap games holds up.  It would be interesting to see last gen's.

Something is off here. I pulled IGN's 9.0 PS3 and 360 reviews and here's what I got:

Discrepancies:

1. Call of Duty: WaW only counts for PS3 because IGN AU only reviewed the 360 version and not the PS3 version, and gave the 360 version an 8.8, while the American review used for the PS3 version was a 9.2, same as the 360 american review.

2. There are actually 12 360 games, not 11. The numbers are innacurate.

My real issue with them is using their own AU reviews, and then covering their own review gaps with US substitutes. Considering how hodge podge the AU system is, they should have just stuck with the US review system, since it's complete, and left it at that. Here is me taking the liberty and how different the results are.
