Forums - Gaming - Biggest 'holy shit' moment in a game.

Gears 2 - playing the Reaver and Brumak-riding levels. And the first time I saw Gears 1 graphics.

BioShock - when you find out who you are.

Another one was when I realised the sun was rising when I started playing WoW the night before.

this was shocking the first time it happened. after a 'few' times, it became... "shit i need to stop this crud"

This thread is quickly making me realize what made me enjoy FFX so much.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

For me it was at the end of disk 1 on FF VII when that bastard Sephiroth came down from the heavens and stabbed poor Aeris, killing her. I remember yelling out loud, "You Mo%$er Fu$%er!" and then the realization sank in that she was dead and I was like "Holy shit, they just killed her"

I'll think of something to put here

I hated it so bad that I followed all the internet rumors and tried everything they said in order to try and revive her.

You can take a guess at how far that got me.

The end of CoD WaW, when Reznov draws for the shank and and mercs that pung. Classic.

Persona 3. Yes whole the game is an Holy what the hell experience. The famous part in FFVII does look like nothing with what happened in Persona 3.

Some that come to mind...

Metal gear solid 1 and psycho mantis - reading your memory card and saying "You like castlevania dont you?" WTF!?!

Resident evil 1 and the tyrant - when he pops out of the ground as you wait for the chopper I had to pause the game...too fucking scary

Discovering super sonic in Sonic 2 after you get all the emeralds

Castlevania Sotn - Beating Richter properly by fluke the second time I played through the game and discovering I just opened another castle and doubled the games length.

MGS 3 ending. When Snake finds out the truth.

Now Playing: Crysis 2

Last Finished: BulletStorm

Towards the end of Fear Effect on the PS1 there was the coolest scene. Unexpectedly the two remaining protagonist mercenaries, Hana and Glas, are pitted against one another because they have been tricked. They are literarily pointing guns at each others faces and I had to decide which one pulled the trigger . Its final, but either way, the survivor goes on to fight a different end boss and gets their own unique ending.

That was my biggest holy shit moment from a game. Having to choose like that because they are both really likable characters, Hana, the cool and calculating femme fatale, or Glas, the jaded yet honorable war veteran. They were also characters you play with through the whole game so I had an attachment to the two. I was totally like WTF. But I give props to the game developers.  Ive never seen anything like it before or since.
