Imagine an alternate universe where the bombs went off in the game and real life at the same time.  Sure you'd be dead along with half the planet, and no one would be alive to appreciate the coincidence, but still!

The "villager rush" near the beginning of RE4. I actually screamed "HOLY SHIT!" when that happened.

Oh, and pretty much any part of playing AvP as a human. That game was 98% "HOLY SHIT!" because you just knew you were about to die a horrible, bloody death.

Honorable mention to Condemned during the walk to the farmhouse when you get bum's rushed by 4-5 big ugly tank motherfuckers who want you for lunch.

that just made me remember my secret shame. i never finished resident evil 4, because i quit it right after that scene. i just dropped the controller, turned off the machine, and went to my mom's room. *sniff*

No, that wasn't an HS moment for me. I guess I wasn't as surprised as you. But the first time a Dr. Salvador got me was definitely an HS moment.

anyone remember the scissorman in clock tower?

when you're running away and the weird music starts to hit, and you're trying to find a place to hide, and you find a door at the end of a hallway. you're trapped so you go through it, only to realize that the door leads to a cliff, and you die.

when you try to hide in a bathroom, inside a cubicle, and you hear him go inside, knocking which way and what, and then silence. you think he's gone, but the moment you move one inch, the scissors cut into the cubicle door and he's cutting you up.

man clock tower gave me some nightmares.

Hm. I guess the biggest 'holy shit' moment for me was the first time I met one of these nasty zombies in Ocarina of Time. I've been checking a grave and found that wierd, brownish, sitting something there. When it suddenly stood up and made that eerie scream and the screen literally froze - I almost pissed my tiny pants :o

oh and at the end of act 3 in mgs4 when you run into liquid ocelot.that whole scene was amazing.reading this post i tryed thinking off things in games that made me go oh s**t and out of all the games ive played only mgs4 and uncharted made me stop in awe.although alot of games had great moments these two games just stood out in my head.the final part in uncharted anyone.on the boat when its raining wow just wow
