Forums - Nintendo - Take Two: We just can't ignore the Wii's install base. We just can't.

Here's a damn good reason they can't ignore the Wii:

Take-Two Takes $15 Million Loss For The Quarter, Half-Billion Sales Increase For Year

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

oh how third parties have fallen like dominoes, as in planned. 2009 year of the Wii INDEED

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

Until they actually announce something, I'm ignoring this. Every company talks about supporting the wii, but most of them stop here. It isn't worth it, to me, to speculate about Take-Two, until they actually announce something. Thank god for Sega. They are one of the few who have actually acted on their words.

Does anyone see any resemblance between N64's epic game Body Harvest and GTA?
Because i think that Body Harvest was the father of GTA.
And if i am not mistaken at first Nintendo was in close cooperation with take two until the point that forced take two to almost change all the code of the game. That was the moment that Take Two left Nintendo for ps.
I hope now that WII and DS are such a huge success, to see more games from take two and at least a GTA in a home Nintendo console

They should port gtaIV to the wii, or make a compilation of past gta games. Its not like the GTA games are going to go to the wii exclusively as the hd consoles still managed to sell over 10 million copies of gta IV.

Oh guys, how can you keep getting suckered in? Don't you remember companies saying the same stupid crap, and then never giving you anything?

Here is a quote from the SAME ARTICLE:

Some of our best content really isn't appropriate for the Wii. That said, Carnival Games has been a massive success for the company, and we're looking at ... extending that brand to other areas."

Straight from Take 2: their "best" content is not suitable for Wii. Expect the Carnival Games brand to be expanded, though. Have fun guys.

lol. I'm looking forward to the ambitious sequels to Carnival Games and Carnival Games: Mini Golf.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

In this matter, they have no other choice/option. Just read the link thelordoftheknight posted...

They released Manhunt 2 and Bully for Wi and even with this fact people will start trolling with "GTA is not suitable for Wii".

PD: I see them releasing GTA Pack (Vice City+San Andreas+GTA III) with the same graphics than PS2 but with adapted controls.

Although it acknowledges that some of its brands are "not appropriate" for the Wii, Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two is encouraged by the relationship it's built with Nintendo and hopes to continue efforts to address the Wii's significant install base.

This is what I don't understand.  GTA sold many many millions on the PS2, a console which is, in every way, inferior to the Wii.  Why would it not be appropriate on the Wii?  It could breath new life into the series.  Mario Kart style controls when driving, Resident Evil style control when shooting, Motion+ for knife attacks, flying planes, driving boats etc.

Makes no sense to me

GTA: Carnival Games? Maybe finally you can waste that scary annoying guy from the cover?

OT

I dont think anyone is suprised, ignoring the biggest userbase is like throwing money away, and companies start to realise how foolish and ignorant they were.
