Ahhh, well I didn't take what witeout said and put it into my guess. Keep in mind that those numbers are affected by 2 holiday seasons for the 360, 1 of which it was not short in supply. The PS3 has only been through 1 holiday season and Sony did have supply issues during that time. Maybe it would have been better had witeout compared the first 38 weeks of both consoles even though that may not be fair since the 360 had no competition for the first year while the PS3 had the wii and 360 to go against.

But his assumption states that 360 sales would stay the same. I happen to think that they will start to go down, bump up for halo 3 for a couple weeks or so, then pick up for the xmas season a few weeks later. I think that the PS3 will continue to increase in sales as new exciting and wanted games begin to come out. And when GTA4 and MGS4 and other wanted titles get released, sales will boost even more.

For the hell of it, churning out the numbers, it would take the PS3 until October 2008 to catch up to the 360 if the 360 stopped selling altogether. This is assuming no increase (or decrease) in sales for the PS3.  It would require 14 completely unopposed months.

I don't think PS3 will be able to catch up to the 360. Look at the lineup for this fall: Halo 3, GTA 4, BioShock, Mass Effect as well as Gears of War 2 on the horizon.

360 is doomed and you all know it but your PS3 hate is blinding you its sad and pathetic.

this is a tough one i think the ps3 wont pass teh 360 before the next ms system comes out. it will catch up to it i think but no pass it. neither the 360 or ps3 is for the casual gamer and wont have anything "special" to have the sales of what the ps2 had. the wii will make quick work of the casual market leaving not much room for the ps3 or 360 for sales in that market. so no i dont think it will.

Honestly, I could give a F less if it is delayed, just more time for my Halo 3.  Besides, it's delayed for both systems.  Also, it'll give me more time to play the new Need for Speed and Burnout additions.  I just wish Activision would get off it's ass and develop a new Bond game!
