Forums - Nintendo - EA gets caught for misleading Tiger Woods Wii commercial

They should have just used CGI or something (is there any in Tiger Woods?).

EA rapped for misleading Tiger Woods Wii ad

Electronic Arts has been rapped by the Advertising Standards Authority for misleading viewers over the graphics of its Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 Wii ads.

The ads featured the sportsman swinging a Wii remote, but showed Xbox 360 gameplay footage at the same time, giving the wrong impression of the visual quality of the Nintendo version of the game.

The publisher explained to the ASA that footage of the Wii game "would not be of broadcast quality" and had included text in the ad that the game was available on multiple formats in an effort to avoid confusion.

haha, not of broadcast quality. Are the games graphics really that bad then?

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Well, they aren't impressive graphics when compared with the 360 or PS3, but you'd think a Wii owner would know that. It's not about the visuals on the Wii, but the interactivity of the player with the games.

Well if it says Wii at the beginning of the ad like most Wii adverts and shows Xbox 360 graphics then people are gunna get the wrong impression. Silly EA, can't fool the public :)

thats of course misleading to the average consumer but because they added the "multiplatform " bit it doesnt make it blatant false advertising
