metacritic.com for rankings (least biased as it's an average of other reviews). (and then read a few different reviews for whatever games I am interested in).

ign for release dates and info of games not yet released, and also for general info about existing games.

and other sources as pointed to by google or metacritic, but those are the only two that I generally go to directly.
