Nah that is not what DMeisterJ means.   FFXII is really hated on this board by a lot of users some even called it crap but it got a perfect score from Famitsu.

I'm not talking about critically, I'm talking about talking to people, they generally regard that Final Fantasy IX is the best out of the 3-D Final Fantasy games, and I simply stated that that game didn't get a 40/40 while this one did.

Well first things first. To my knowledge, none of us here have actually played WKC so we really can't comment on whether Famitsu is underrating the game or whether the review is accurate. There is one thing this generation has taught me. Play the games yourself. I've bought games that reviews slap a 10 on that are less fun than games the same reviewer gives a 6.

Second thing, you guys can't have it both ways. You can't defend the score by saying "Famitsu bases there scores on hype." WKC was hyped, that actually weakens your position not strengthens it. Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World scored higher than WKC, and there no way that game had as much hype behind it as Sony's first major JRPG exclusive.

I'm going to reserve my judgment for when I actually get to play White Knight Story. It could be like TLR, where reviewers reamed the game and it's much better than they lead you to believe. It could be like Infinite Undiscovery where the reviews seem dead on, the game is thoroughly average. Or it could be like Eternal Sonata which reviewers scored too highly and I had to force myself to finish it.

All that said, I have to wonder if its a measure of karma if WKC does turn out to be Level 5's first less than stellar effort. Sony fanboys have been denigrating the 360's RPG lineup using unreleased PS3 rpgs to substantiate their consoles "superiority" and this happens. It's hard to feel sorry for people that have been acting in such a manner. Well, at least we can all agree that Valkyria Chronicles is top notch.

I just wondered when Famitsu suddenly be came the place to score games at, given at how off their reviews have been, and currently are.

But we shall see come 2009.

This game will be reviewed much better by Western reviewers than Famitsu. I'm 99% sure of it.
