Rhetorical/Hypothetical; If the father didn't own a gun, would he have seeked alternate means? If yes, could he have easily of overpowered them with that weapon? Would that other weapon cause him to think longer about his actions?

Come on how many of didn't want to kill our parents at some point in our young lives. I know I did but never actually went through with it. We don't know what was going on here. Of course friends and relatives are going to say they were great parents but we don't know what really happened in that home. Still though scares me to think my kids will feel enough hatred towards me to think the same way.

Fucked up things happen everywere in the world, but cases that are even vaguely connected to video games seem to happen most often in the U.S than other places. (only some cases in Korea come in mind now, bloody Starcraft related.) Comparing sick fucks with games related incidents is not really valid. Fritzl was a headcase and sexual abberations create the most horrific crimes, but video games violence is just...idiotic.Almost all the cases connecting to VG, could have been prevented with sound reasonining. Sex crimes are of the darkest  side of humanity, nobody can predict of control them. They can't be used as a counter-point to video game violence.

Maybe if they had been more restrictive from the very beginning and not spoiling him he wouldn't have turned out like that. Yes, they decided to do something right, but it was far too fast, and most importantly, far too late. This sotry is just like the one from a few montsh ago, where some spoiled idiot ran away from home and got himself killed because his parents took away his 360 or something. It's the parents' fault they were spoiled the way they were, not the kid's fault.
