some guy told me to make my own thread so i guess i am now.

before i go any furthur, im gonna fasten my flame vest thing or whatever in the hell you guys call it because everyone is going to think im dumb for saying this or whatever, so we have that. and secondly, i think voting for game of the year is a cool and fun thing to do, but i guess there are just some inherent problems in the whole process. its comparable to how games lose steam in their sales after they get released. would anybody honestly consider the new prince of persia game of the year? out of anything that has come out in the whole fucking year, could prince of persia really be the best thing to come out all year? in the game of the year voting thread, a bunch of people considered games like this and left 4 dead as OVERALL GAME OF THE YEAR. i mean, would these two games be talked about at all if they had come out in march or april? i just hate how things like this factor into the equation of game of the year. its lke saying RAINBOW SIX VEGAS 2 FOR OVERALL GAME OF THE YEAR! i guarantee if rsv2 came out last week, that a shit load of people would be nominating it for overall game of the year.

On the actual subject at hand, I think that the issue of release timeframe is always a problem in any GotY awards. It's more of a problem for forum voting I would guess, but just try and remember that these awards are not a huge deal, just a fun thing to see what the forum goers think of their games.

You'll have people who agree and disagree, that's life. Maybe they actually thought games like Left 4 Dead are GOTY material, which is their opinion. Can't hate them for that.

From what I heard, one reviewer said Prince of Persia would be one of his fondest memorys of this generation ... I can't tell if you're for or against it in your rant!

I don't think many people on this site are fit enough to vote for "game of the year" tbh, Including myself in some respects.

So, I guess all of us should vote for the game you want to be GOTY.

What game it should be then?
