i am enjoying the hell out of : monster hunter 3 ultimate on the wiiu. everytime i play , its usually for a few hrs each time, i am so glad i decided too buy the game. i am hoping by tokyo game show, capcom announces a wiiu ultimate version of monster hunter 4 as well. since 4 would have been out for a good few months, with maybe a spring 2014 release.

Persona 5 is going to ruin my life when it comes out lol. Anyone else with me...? Im also thinking it's going to come out on the Wii U due to the amount of love Atlus has been showing Nintendo lately, but even if it doesn't ill be ok with it on my ps3:)

Hope you enjoy this thread, I've been around here for almost 5 years and I can say, without any doubt, that this is not only my favourite thread on VGC, but also the best. 

As for your question, I might not be the best person to indicate you quality RPGs on the Vita, mostly because I've yet to buy one (though Persona 4: Golden is really tempting me), but as for the 3DS, you'd be served a great variety of quality RPGs. It's quickly becoming on par to it's older sibling in terms of RPGs and it only looks better in the future, with titles such as Bravely Default, Pokemon X/Y, Monster Hunter 4, Rune Factory 4, Beyond the Labyrinth, Dragon Quest VII, Dragon Quest Monsters, Fantasy Life and Shin Megami Tensei IV. 

I usually don't like to say this, because I believe that every console has it's own merits and values, but so far, the 3DS lineup is looking much more solid than the Vita's, at least in my point of view. 

Anyone else here is having this problem where you get addicted to an rpg go far into the game then suddlenly stop playing for whatever reason and not picking it up again for a while. Happened to me with FF13, Valkire Chronicels and my latest victim Persona 4 the golden.

This happened to me a lot in the past couple of years. I still got to get a 100% save file on Dissidia 012 because I stopped playing it when I was almost finishing it, even though I already had a 200+ hours save file. 

This also happens to me on action RPGs, like Diablo or Titan Quest. I start a new character to try a new build, do about 100 hours or so with that build and stop right when I'm getting to the last acts of the final difficulty and then I find it hard to pick them up because I've lost my edge for that character.

Glad to know im not the only one. This habbit really hinders me from buying rpg's really.

Same here, this is one of the main reasons by my Backlog looks like a pile that's about to crush me any time I even ponder buying a new game XD.

from my personal opinion the best rpg on the vita is : ragnarok odyssey . i put over 120 hrs into that game and loved every minute of it as well. its for me the best monster hunter clone out there period.
my favorite rpg on the 3ds is tie between : tales of the abyss and draqon quest 7.
i think both handhelds will have a good life with rpg's on them, but i knew which one is getting my games i am making and that is the 3ds and for consoles the wiiu.
