Awesome, if you're up to some online sessions in Demon's Souls later this week, just say something then. I'll start a new character, I have quite a few build ideas.

How far along are you on FF13?

It isn't needed, I don't think you can communicate vocally online.

Warrior wasn't that good of a class to start as, especially if you're not used to the limitations of heavy armour. The best starting classes are either the Royality, Hunter or Thief.

Knight was also a good starting class, even though it suffers heavily from the Fluted Armour's weight, the protection it offers and the guard reduction % of the Fluted Shield makes up for that.

My preference is for lighter characters that can stay on the move with the dodges, with the heaviest piece of equipment being the Purple Flame Shield, the second best shield in the game (which can be obtained early on in the game, if you follow some steps to get it).

That shield is obtained right in the first stage of World 1. Problem is, it's in the dragon's nest, right next to the Red Dragon. To be able to obtain it, you must first defeat Phalanx and Tower Knight (the bosses from the first and second stage of world 1), without messing up the World Tendency of world 1.

For that purpose, you must play the game on soul form, as dying in Physical form, bring the World Tendency closer to Black, while dying on Soul Form doesn't affect the World Tendency. In order to get the Red dragon out of the nest, you need to do either of these two things:

- Kill it on stage 2 of World 1 (very unlikely to do at the start of the game)

- Achieve at least 40% White World Tendency on world 1. White World Tendency is achieved by defeating the Major Demons of each world (Stage Bosses) or by defeating Black Phantoms that invade you online. When you defeat Phalanx, you get a nifty 30% White World Tendency boost for all 5 of the game worlds. Defeating Tower Knight gives you another 30% for World 1 alone.
So that means that by defeating both those bosses and not dying as Physical form, you get 60% White World Tendency for world 1, which is more than enough to go back to stage 1 and get the Purple Flame Shield from near the Red Dragon nesting place.

Of course, these values are valid for offline play only, as playing online, World Tendencies are directly affected by the overall World Tendency of each individual player logged on in the server. So that means, that it's more likely to be close to grey (neutral) or to some small % of White World Tendency.

My advice is that you play the game offline to do World Tendency and Character Tendency events, that way you won't have to worry about other players messing up your Tendencies.

As for starting class, my recommendation to you is that you pick the Royalty class (although Thief is my personal favorite, it's a very hard class to start as, as you'll have the weakest Armour and have to rely on dodges alone to get you through the start of the game).

Royalty has a good Armour to start as, which is also light, meaning you can dodge efficiently, has a MP regeneration ring (small Regen effect, but good nonetheless) and starts with the Soul Arrow spell, which is invaluable against tough early on enemies, like the Blue Eyed Knight (even the Red Eyed Knight can be felled with it, using proper strategy). Not only that, Royalty also starts as Soul Level 1, meaning that you can then develop your character as you see fit, it's the perfect clean slate start to the game.

@Robo: Basically if you want to keep from messing up World Tendency, kill your character in the Nexus whenever you have your body.  So if you are alive and you are not sure how to do your current level (and are not going to get a Blue Phan) just go back to the Nexus, kill youself (jump off stairs but DO NOT fall ontop of anyone).

@ssenkahdavic and lestatdark, thanks for the help and info. will use it , when i start it again in a few weeks.

If anyone here has a DS, I seriously recommend getting Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. As you probably know, i'm a major fan of Demon's Souls, but Ecclesia puts Demon's Soul difficulty to shame most of the times.

Especially if you do the Hard Mode Lvl.1 cap. It's up there in difficulty with Ghouls and Goblins and Battletoads. Made me want to throw the DS out of the window more than a couple of times and almost broke the L and R triggers with all the back-flips, dashing and glyph changing you have to do in a blink of an eye XD

Could you describe how castlevania plays, its concept, gameplay etc. I've been looking fora Demon souls like game on a ninendo system, apart from MH3.

Does anyone have any new info on Last Story ?

In my opinion Twilight Princess is better than Ocarina of t... * gets shot *

If you have played Symphony of the Night for the PS/SAT or PSN/XLIVE, it's the same gameplay basics.

You have a character that grows in levels and in power. That character can equip a plethora of weapons, armour and magic (that differs from normal bought magic, to magic that you can absorb/capture/dropped by the enemy).

The exploration aspect of the game is similar to how a normal Metroid game played. You start weak with almost no ability and a huge map to explore. Usually there are barriers to prohibit you to explore more areas in the start because you lack a certain ability (like Double Jump). You'll have to explore, fight bosses and gain that ability to explore more of Dracula's Castle (usual setup in this type of Castlevania games).

Also, the games gets  a lot harder as you explore more of the castle, ending in a couple of really difficult boss battles, with the typical Death fight (this is a common fight in every Castlevania game, it's part of the Castlevania Lore).

Because it combines these different aspects, games like Symphony of the Night, Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow (for the GBA), Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia (for the DS), are called MetroidVania.
