@robo ,so what was it that drew you in to rpg games was it watching a story unfold , or the worlds they created, or i was it actually playing a role even thought most games with rpg in the name don't give you much latitude in that respect, maybe the length of time you are given play ?

I went from really enjoying Star Ocean to total and ridiculous NERD RAGE when Edge went absolutely batshit emo on me (when he destroyed the planet...after a really really really poorly done script...who the FUCK Would have given that woman anything?

I loved the game (even with the KAY) before and after that moment (once he "fixed" himself)  Then it happens again with Faze?  REALLY? I have not been that mad at a video game in a LONG TIME.  Demon's Souls might have pissed me off (more than once) but never to the point of screaming bloody murder :)

@mjk45, i would say that its the story and length of time to put into the game. any jrpg/rpg that i can put over 40hrs or more into, gets my attention more than ones that dont and for example a story like lost odyssey pulled me so much into that i never wanted the game too end, because i've never been that engrossed like that before.

Definitely Robo. Cannot WAIT for FFXIV! They keep saying this year, so here is hoping we get a good group of VGChartz people together for that one.

@Ssenkahdavic, regards star ocean i forgot about that bit of stupidity regarding giving away tech to wanna be hitler types surely the crew had watched star trek on dealing with lesser beings. then faze who was unaffected by all that occured goes even more emo over some one he met for 5 minutes, Apart from the sublime writing and characterisation i take it you liked the game play underneath as thats what kept me going.

Did you guys play Star Ocean with the English voices or the Japanese voices?

@ssenkahdavic, that would be cool. they need too show a very good gameplay trailer for ff14 at e3, if they actually intend it to release this year i think. i truly hope i want to play another ff mmorpg right now. :)

@maxxpower, i always choose the english voices. i might try the japanese voices the next time i play the game.
