@lestatdark, u are right i think final fantasy 8 story was the best so far in a ff game. squall and rinoa was awesome and seeing how he opened-up and left her inside his heart and how she learned to show her feelings too. was just awesome. the battle system and the gf's were great, specially eden and over the 30k damage was cool for its day.

I loved the characterization of Squall, he had a character development that is so rare nowadays, that part in where he carries rinoa all the way from Fisherman's horizon to Eshtar in his back while she was in a coma...gah, so many good things that come to my mind from that game =) I loved the GF's too and the junction system also. I remember getting a sore thumb from doing all the boost up to 250 for eden :P

Let me chime in for a moment on FF X-2.

Did I think the game was beyond awesome? No, of course not.

Do you know why I enjoyed it and felt it was great? I was so down about the ending to FFX that I just had to play the whole game just to hope that Tidus came back to Yuna. That is what a good love story in a game like FFX can do.

I swear, after the FFX ending made me tear up I was happy as a pig in s**t when I heard about a sequel. People can say what they want about it but I was so happy they actually made it.

@euphoria14 i completely agree with u on final fantasy 10-2. i am also glad that made a sequel to ff10. i just wish they would make a sequel to ff8, then i would be truly happy with delight. :)

I think FFVIII ended well, what do you think they could continue it with?

I also want to throw this out there for all those who may have missed out on some oldies.

Vagrant Story, this game should get an entire discussion just for itself. True PS1 gem and truly sad to see the follow up games getting canned. Come on S-E, you left this wonderful game WIDE OPEN for a sequel with the games ending and you left us hanging out to dry. One of video gamings biggest disappointments IMO, maybe because I loved it so much.

another ps2 rpg i really liked was xenosaga . need to get that series again sometime soon.

The only disappointment I think rivals it in terms of RPGs is Square rushing Xenogears out the door. To think that the game is THAT AWESOME plus the fact the entire 2nd disc was rushed. Think of what we could have been blessed with if Square just let them do what they originally intended to do with that game.

Xenogears makes Xenosaga pale in comparison. The story is amazing, I loved the 2-D sprites and the 2 different combat system, also add in a love story that spans over hundred of years.

thats true. as for what i think they could make a sequel to ff8 about, would be this. they could have had another creature/wizard/sorcess locked or imprisoned in the researced facility where u got eden,and u could set the story up as that someone from another garden or a follower of adel, who wanted revenge against squall and his comrades for taking out adel. or even a remake of ff8 i would be happy with, a ps3 version of ff8 would be so cool to see and play.
