Forums - Sales Discussion - Why the heck do people group the Game Boy line together for sales???

Nintendo should've released an N64 with the extra RAM Pak built inside. That would've REALLY fucked with DTG's head.

If the GBC isint a new system why is the GBA considered one?

serious question.

The Gameboy was an 8-bit system. The GBA was a 32 bit system.

Sega Genesis - 16 Bit

Sega CD - 32 Bit

Sega 32X - 32 Bit

yet their the same. Just add-ons.

 Fair enough.

Buy a GBC/GB and pop in a GBA game...it won't fit. It won't play. It won't do anything.

Buy a GB and pop in a GBC game it will probably play some won't most will.

Pop a DS game into a GBA it won't fit won't play. It won't do anything just star at you with a blank screen.

Why do you not consider Sega CD and 32x the same system ever try to play a 32X game in a genesis it won't play or fit the same is true with the Sega CD you needed the add on.

In the respect the Sega CD and 32X are even farther removed from being the same system as the GBC and GB were.

The GBA was not based on the previous platform.  It stood alone as a new product.   From conception, to development, to marketing, to retail, to practically everything involved with the industry, it was a completely new and separate product.

The same cannot be said for the GBC which who's concept, development, marketing, retail, etc...were executed as a new model of the Gameboy product.

Bassically you guys are trying to say that Nintendo is wrong, that their 3rd party partners are wrong, that the retailers are wrong, that the investors are wrong, that the markers are wrong...tha the whole consumer electronics industry has been doing it wrong for decades.   I think the odds are just slightly against you guys.
