Forums - Nintendo - Viewtiful Joe 2... any good?

I was in sears today... and i passed by the electronics section and saw a "10 dollars or less bin."

So i though... hey neat.

Saw Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 sitting there for 5 bucks a piece and i thought... "Viewtiful Joe is one of the best games on the Gamecube... or so i'm told... and I've never actually played it sadly."

So I bought 1 and 2 figuring hey... it's a steal of a deal.

So is Viewtiful Joe 2 good as well?

I got bored with it quickly.
It mainly had to do with a very high difficulty level without really deep gameplay. I can take a challenge, but I need to have the feeling that I can get out of a situation by playing well enough (e.g. DMC3). Viewtiful Joe 2, with its simple 2D gameplay, made every challenge feel a bit random and unsolveable.

I drink your milkshake.

Hell yeah!! A bit easier then one.. but still a great game!! Henshin a Go-Go Baby!!

Definitely worth 5 bucks a pop buddy. I'd actually pick it up for 10 each if I could lol. Unfortunately the PS2 version of the first one is superior.

Huh, didn't even know there was a PS2 version.  Must of been part of Capcoms "These games are GC exclusives... eh nevermind we'll port them to PS2 with extra content." games.  Wonder how i missed it then.  Thought the reason i missed Viewtiful Joe was because i was spending all my console gaming time on the PS2.

Must of been during one of my big Civilization fixes.

Ah well.  At least i got the Gamecube version of Killer 7.  I hear that games almost impossible on the PS2 due to poor controls.

Yeah.. If you suck at the game or doesn't get how to use the vfx powers right it's boring.. that's true.. they are games which you have to be good at to really enjoy them...

BS.. the only difference is the addition of Dante. which you could unlock after finishing the ps2 version.. but he played the same as the other unlockable charakters.. there is no real difference between the versions..

Great games. Preferred #1 because it was harder, but both were great and deserve a sequel.
