Lol, Killzone 1 was supposed to kill Halo, got the same amount of hype as Killzone 2, and you saw how it did on a console with over 5 times the userbase.
Halo killer, lol. I doubt it'll even be as good as Halo, and I hate halo 2 and 3.
GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

It was the most played game for most of '08 but Halo 3 stayed on top for awhile, feel for a bit of time and popped in every now and then. Now with the release of Call of Duty: WaW the CoD4 user base is splitting and branching off. Gears 2 took a lot of people as well. Halo 3 is back on top. The reason being is that Halo 3 has a consistent, loyal user base and Halo 3 has a longer lasting appeal and by far a longer relay value. When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 comes out no where near the amount of people playing CoD4 duruing '08 will be playing CoD4. Where as Halo 3 will still have a stong user base will new material and still be going strong.
A Halo killer used to be Killzone 1, but didn't work...
Then Resistance 1, then Haze... then Resistance 2 becamse a Gears of War 2 killer, but it didn't work...
And now is Killzone 2 (and again, it will not sell or be reviewed as Halo series)

My apologies. I don't know why I thought it was this magazine I had. I must have gotten it confused with Official Playstation 2 Magazine UK. They're the ones that started the whole "Halo Killer" infamy when they labelled it as such and as one of the finest games they had ever laid their eyes upon back when the game was still under embargo and called "Kin".
Anyways, the cover I have just has the more rational overbearing PR message that the game never lived up to. It's from May 2004 if anyone was wondering. I can take some inside scans if anyone wants me to, but it's just more fluff pieces(about 10 pages) on the game with no critical eye whatsoever. Unfortunately the UK magazine that stated the hype chain I don't have and isn't archived on the net. It takes a good Google search to get the quotes on what they originally said about the game but all signs do point towards them having started the ball rolling on "Killzone=Halo Killer".
Thank segajon for wall posting me, otherwise I would have forgotten about this topic altogether.

Possibilities for Killer:
Killer- 1. Someone who causes the death of a person or animal 2. A common usage to describe the Spiker or a successful spike ball. 3. Anything in slot racing that is killer is top notch. Very fast. Handling great. Looking great. etc.
So... I guess maybe a "Halo Killer" is a top notch aura?
