Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Multiplayer Flash Games on the Wii!

Thank You, Opera!

Full wii remote API for Flash.  The only thing missing is the accelerometer data (but the tilt data is still there) and it works for all 4 remotes.

What this means is that the Homebrew stuff can now take *almost* full advantage of all of the remotes!  This is great news!

cool...great potential for some quick, fun games, as long as they run well on the browser.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I don't know, it's neat but I don't see a lot of stuff happening for the Opera Wii Browser until it's able to get the newest version of Flash.

Can it? Can a firmware upgrade change the Flash version?

I wouldn't expect Flash to be in the firmware. I expect it is probably loaded as part of Opera, which we know part is in firmware, but the full browser has to be downloaded separately, and I would expect flash would be in it. It would still be updatable, but I think you'd have to go to the shop channel to download a new version, should they ever support it.

Wiicade does a fairly good job of attracting the developer types. They've had their own exclusive API, and now this will free it up to more sites.

It currently cannot play the latest version of Flash. I really don't remember the details (didn't pay too much attention since I really don't use the browser) but I think it's a mixture of Flash hasn't released the code for Flash 8 yet and they don't want to work on an Opera version. Of course I could be completely wrong on that part, all I know is that currently the Opera browser doesn't have the latest version of Flash.

O, seems neat
