Nintendo have apparently changed the innards of the Wii slightly, "What they have done is combine the old D1A and drive controller chip in to one which is now called the GC2-D3"
Usually when you combine two components into one, it is to bring about
reductions in weight, size, power consumption, heating and cost.
Whilst it's probably thatthese all have been achieved, the main thing here is that all existing modchips for the Wii will no longeer work on these new models.
