It won't sell as well for this week as it will next week, so I estimate 1.2m for this week, then 800k to finish off 2008 (another 800k for the remainder of that week - the part that's in 2009).

That makes 2m for the remainder of the year - putting it at 45.6m.

Final answer.

It's at 45.37m right now, and that's excluding the last four days of 2008.

Include the 28th-31st of December and it's quite possible that it actually managed to make over 46m.

Looks like everybody except Supermario128 lowballed. Supermario128 overestimated a good deal, but it's amazing how much closer he turned out than anticipated.
