Still awaiting leoj's answer. Do people buy it because it looks sexy on their entertainment center? Is it because they need a fancy new paperweight or doorstop? Can it really be used in place of a vacuum to collect dust around the home? I would really like to read his response since he says the same crap every week when the sales numbers are up.

There's a lot wrong with this statement. You assume a title has to be "AAA" to be selling the console. Yet plenty of Wii titles are selling very strong, it's just they don't meet your definition of "AAA". I suspect the games are pushing the console. No one buys it for anything other than the software.

As much as I like my Wii, I have to agree that it seems weird that a console can maintain this kind of momentum. Nintendo must be sprinkling them with magic pixie dust on the way out of the factory...

The Wii is like break dancing, or disco, or the pet rock. It's a fad. Women and old people are having SSBB tournaments as we speak. This angers me since women and old people should not be allowed to play games.

I'm sure there are poeple like that. But if you look at the sales of wii games and the amount of play time provided via the Nintendo Channel then there are a lot more that actually buy and play wii games.
