Forums - Microsoft - Any 360 owners NOT buying Halo 3?

I will get it, but it's not on the top of my list eighter, so I may wait until I can get it a bit cheaper.

I am debating it now. I love games with co-op and now that Halo 3 has 4 player co-op, I may pick it up. I think I was the only original X-box owner that didn't own Halo or Halo 2.

Doubtful. I'm not a big fan of the FPS genre, as it's just about as stale as the general JRPG genre.

I *might* pick it up if its $30 and I can play 4p co-op through campaign.

Yes the FPS has become quite stale but there are still lots of games that go new ways, System Shock and Deus Ex come to mind, Bioshock Mass Effect and the newly announced Rage should also add some depth to the genre, I´m not going to say Halo is in any way a revolution but does every new game have to be one ??? If Halo 3 does what the Halo searies has been doing best up till now I will definitly get it as soon as I have a 360.

And yes I´m actually a PC games when it comes to FPSs but Halo is one of the few I love playing on a console.

Never played Halo or Halo 2, I have no intention at this time to buy Halo 3.

"How the heck could it NOT sell consoles?"

Most of the ppl who want halo 3 heaps, already have an xbox360. I guess thats how it could not sell consoles. It will sell a few more but not much, plus the japanese arnt big halo fans, which will lessen worldwide sales figures.

I want xbox360 but them breakin sucks and will not buy untill M$ fix the problem and publicly anounce that it has been 100% fixed and will not happen. At the moment (2 years down the track) they still wont say they messed up, they just say everthings ok. WTF

It wouldnt be huge if it wasnt great.

There are a lot of big games that are terrible. FIFA being the first one I can think of. The sims anyone?

Yes

^^ youre right lots of big gamesare terrible.... IMO. I know lots of poeple who love FIFA.... but they are soccer nerds, and the Sims didn´t outsell tonns of great games because it´s a bad game, it´s just a game I don´t enjoy, I think Halo3 will be great if thats the sort of game you love, if you are expecting something revolutionary or the best FPS of all time than Halo3 didn´t fail to be a great game but you failed to have realistic expectations. Hype is great for selling games but it´s great for dissapointing people.....I still remember beeing hyped about Daikatana and Tiberium Sun... never again... ok maybe a little bit... great screenshots and dev. boasts about revolutions will do crazy stuff to gamers.

I don't want to flame here, because I think Halo 3 will be a very solid game, but who thinks Gears of War will be better overall?

I do but thats not saying much as I am not a fan of Halo so i'm a little biased.

This is the same argument everyone keeps saying about Halo 3 not being a system seller.  You do realize, as I stated above, that there isn't a Halo game on the 360?  They were both original Xbox games.  If someone were a Halo addict and that is all they really played, there would be no reason to get a 360 now would there?  Sure, the 360 is backward compatible and I'm sure a lot of original Xbox owners have uprgraded, but this argument doesn't hold water and logically makes no sense whatsoever.  If anything holds the 360 back it during the launch of Halo 3, it won't be lack of people wanting a console to play it but will much more likely be people concerned about the quality of the console...

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.
