Well, looking the majority of your posts, you are very serious. I just assumed it was a typo, since I have never heard sarcasm coming from you.

Pros:

-Great quality. Sony had a few mis-steps with hardware quality regarding the PS1/PS2, but the PS3 is rock solid. Even the small details down to the touch-sensitive buttons and the disc-drive all run and look great.

-Capabilities. From playing games, watching Blu-Ray movies, burning CD's, or browsing the internet, the PS3 can do a hell of a lot of things, and well.

-The PSN/PS Store. While not as smooth and intuitive as Xbox Live at this point, it is a huge step up from Sony's PS2 online service. Offers all the basic features, and with services like Home, and great Firmware updates in the future, it has a lot of potential. Oh, and it is free.

-Holiday line-up. Say what you want about the PS3's game library, it is looking mighty impressive for late this holiday season well into 2008 and beyond. And if you are impatient: Resistance, MotorStorm, Ninja Gaiden, Oblivion, and Virtua Fighter 5 should tide you over.

Cons:

-Price. Although justifiable when taking its capabilities into account, many just want a gaming machine. And as a pure console, it is quite expensive.

-Lack of rumble. Not a big deal to me personally, but I can see why a lot of people miss the feature, and if recent rumors come true, it may be back.

-Games often delayed and/or jump ship. I see this problem dying soon, as developers grow accustomed to the hardware and the userbase grows, but lately it has been quite a downer.

-Slow content upgrades on PSN. Although the past month or so has been relatively good content-wise, there can be one too many dry weeks here and there.

I hope that somewhat puts it in perspective, I tried to keep it as objective as possible.

Get a PS3 its real good....hell I only had Resistance for a month and it was worth it. I recomend the 60 gb if you have PS2 games.

My review, Its perfect!

PS3 is the Veyron the Sr71 the Michel Jordan the Tiger Woods the Gretzky the Jessica Alba of home consoles. If you need convincing you don't deserve it.

Its like breathing air there is no choice, there only is the PS3!

WOW Hus since you said the PS3 is like Jessica Alba..its worth the purchase...I'm feeling the games also..Like Resistance, GTA 4, FFXIII and Versus...PS3 has some titles I like...Should I wait for them to come out or just purchase it now...My fear is that Square Enix will prolong the development of the game...and having to wait for that game pisses me off...I really do want to play that game!!!

You wait a year for thre PS3....

you wait 5/6 years to get your dream car....

you waited 20 years to get your dream house.... you finally got it, walking to the door you have a heart attack and DIE.

Was the wait worth it ?

Having owned both the 360 and the PS3 I have to say that the Playstation 3 is the better choice. I bought both systems a launch and was very excited about the 360 (before the red rings of death and) until I got my PS3.

While the 360 is a good purchase the PS3 is a great investment. After playing Restance Fall of Man and Motorstorm I saw the awesome potential that the PS3 has to offer. I sold my 360 and used the money to pay for preorders for the 3. Most all of the games that are coming out for 360 that I am interested in are also coming out for PC so I have no regrets about letting the console go. Also the Wi-Fi adaptor and the wireless headset for 360 did not meet my standards, but with the built in Wi-Fi and the Bluetooth headset that the Playstation offers I have been more than happy.

Microsoft also made a huge mistake staying with DVD as a storage format, with this generation of games developers need more space to make truly exceptional games. And with the recent announcement that 360 games are going to require the HDD to run Blu-Ray seems to already be proving itself as necessary for games. This announcement also made me feel more confident about my decision to get rid of the 360.

With the game line up that Sony has to offer this fall and through the winter from its first party studios (Lair, Heavenly Sword- the demo is amazing, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Gran-Turismo, and Killzone 2, not to mention the Playstation Network Games like Echo chrome, Pain, Bowling, and my current favorite Calling all Cars) and the more recent 3rd party development support (Unreal Tournament 3/Unreal Engine, Haze, MGS4, FFXII, Heavy Rain, and also Rockstar working on an Exclusive) I feel that PS3 is going to have far superior gaming experiences for the duration of this generation of these consoles.

The 360 dose currently have more games to buy due to the year head start, but I prefer quality over quantity. The lack of games to choose from is the only complaint that I have for the PS3 and that is only temporary.

Wii is still $249.99
Wi-Fi and card reader included and online gaming is free.

PS3 60 gig $499.99
Wi-Fi, 60 gig hard drive, Blu-ray drive, HDMI out, and card reader included.
Online gaming is free.

360 core $279.99
NO HDMI OUT
Plus
Hard Drive $99.99
Wi-Fi $99.99
HD-DVD drive $179.99 after price cut in Aug
TOTAL $659.96 $479.97 without HD drive

360 Premium $349.99
NO HDMI OUT
Plus
Wi-Fi $99.99
HD-DVD drive $179.99 after price cut in Aug
TOTAL $629.97 $449.98 without HD drive

360 Elite $449.99
120 gig hard drive and HDMI included
Plus
Wi-Fi $99.99
HD-DVD drive $179.99 after price cut in Aug
TOTAL $729.97 $549.98 without HD drive

X-Box live is $50.00 a year.

I have always been a little confused as to how the 360 is cheaper than the PS3, and as far as price the Wii is obviously cheaper.

I hope all of this info is helpful. -40cal-

Haven't heard from you in a while. I have a 32" SDTV no component cables.

On Topic: I will say this, as far as TV's for the PS3. 1080p on anything less than a 40" TV looks almost like 720p. From what I have heard, 1080p is the way to go. It seems that BR movies do not downscale to 720p. If you don't have 1080p, they drop down to 480p by default. Not sure about games, though.

My 2 cents.

This problem was fixed in a firmware update months ago. So now you can watch BR movies at 1080p or 720p according to your tv.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

umm... heres my amazon review; I did a slight update on it for the 80GB but nothing major.

The PlayStation 3 is a great console. With every firmware update Sony adds new features and modifies others making the overall console better and better.

The online function for the PS3 is made using Sony's idea of keeping it a free user based network. Even though it is limited currently you can send messages to other users keep a buddy list, browse the internet using Sony's own internet browser, download music, movies, game demos, arcade games and more.

Currently there are 64 games available for purchase at retail or for download off the PlayStation Network Store. Prices for downloads range from 3.99 to 39.99. There are also PS1 games that can be played on both the PS3 and the PSP if you own one. Don’t worry though, Sony announced that there will be 200 more games released by the end of the year, it’s also rumored that one of the games will be Metal Gear Solid 4. On a side-note, it’s been confirmed about 60 times that Metal Gear Solid 4 is PlayStation 3 exclusive and won’t be going to the Xbox 360. Sony’s full E3 2007 press conference is currently available on the PlayStation Network Store.

If you want to make yourself feel good you can use the Folding@Home feature that helps the medical branch of Stanford University study protein stains from diseases in hope of finding a cure from everything ranging from the common cold or AIDs, cancer, and herpes.

You might be wondering even though these features are great it doesn't completely justify spending 499 (60GB model) or 599 (80GB model/bundle) bucks let me explain why this is worth it without stating what I said above, those are mainly just a giant plus sign.

The key reason for the price being so big is because of the Blu-ray DVD drive. You might be wondering why Sony would jam their format into a gaming console. It’s for two reasons. So you can watch movies every resolution up to full 1080p and so game developers have enough space to make a huge game without having to worry about changing discs. We all know changing discs for a game went out with the original PlayStation, and yes this is where the Xbox 360 will greatly suffer down the road, the first game that will have multi-discs on the 360 has already been launched in Japan and will be released in America on August 28, 2007, it’s called Blue Dragon.

Now what’s so great about Blu-ray that HD-DVD or standard DVD’s can’t do? HD-DVD has mostly everything Blu-ray does but doesn't offer nearly as much space which can cause movie studios to limit the amount of HD content or special features on the disc. Blu-ray also has a new feature available now called Blu-ray Java which will allow the menus to look even better and run better then they currently do on HD-DVD. Another key detail is that 7/8 Hollywood studios and most hardware manufacturers support Blu-ray.

Another great feature is the internal Wi-Fi Adapter. This allows you to not have to either buy an external Wi-Fi adapter to make your gaming console have wireless internet and saves money on Ethernet Cables.

The HDMI port built in to the console is rated to run HDMI 1.3. Some will say “but the Xbox 360 Elite Edition has HDMI.” Well there’s a major difference, the Elite 360 only supports HDMI 1.2 which is greatly limited compared to HDMI 1.3 which supports 7.1 lossless-audio which is currently the best audio quality available. HDMI 1.3 also supports up to a 1440p resolution so once TVs manage to obtain the Ultra-High-Definition levels the PS3 will be able to at least play some of its smaller PlayStation Network Store downloadable games at that resolution.

Now finally the key advantage, the Cell Broadband Engine, the heart of the console. This processor is designed by Sony, Toshiba, and IBM. The Cell is currently the most powerful processor to date, and basic desktop processors are expected to take another 4 or 5 years to match its power. The Cell has been rated to be 12 – 15 times faster than Intel’s Core 2 Quad-Extreme.

With tons of massive titles coming out in the next few years there is no reason to get a PS3 now.

I actually agree with the last line of your review, there is no reason to get a PS3 right now.  Why get it now when you can wait until next year when the console will probably be cheaper and by then there will be some solid titles in either the bargain bin or the $30 range and more solid titles out or coming out soon.  I see very little reason to get a PS3 this year.
