The best innovation was LBP for level creation and sharing? Really?
Ugh, and they even gave Fable 2 game of the year. It's good but it wasn't that good.

Wow. That was a so-so list. It was just big name games (or just overhyped) that won.
that's a pretty pathetic list. Fable 2? Really?

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

In this year's most shocking news...people have differentiating opinions! I think it was a quality list. I did not find any pick egregious.
amusingly (and somewhat off topic) on IGN wii's reader votes for games of the year (wii only again), the only racing game nominated that you can choose is Mario Kart. I mean there wasn't anything else to compete but I find it funny that they give you a choice to vote, but only for one game.

It's not so much the choices of opinion as it is the inconsistancy of having an RPG win game of the year but not RPG of the year.

That and it's hard to fathom giving a game of the year to something that:
True, the game had one of the most fantastic endings ever and wasn't a bad game at all (in fact, it was a good game) but all of those above things should really just make Fable 2 not even be a contender for game of the year.

Perhaps they thought it was obvious the GOTY would be the best in its genre and decided to eschew recognizing it in favor of recognizing another superb game? It is a plausible scenario.

Then they would be doing a diservice by not giving the true game of the year the title of game of the year. Why trust someone who doesn't give games what they deserve. Either way it's unprofessional.
