That's pretty hilarious about the Kokiri City story. You definitely get bonus points for that.

Looking at my top 5 games, they're mostly games that fall in between short and replayable or plain long.

5. Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Short and replayable. Lack of save function makes completing it tougher, however.

4. Metroid Prime: Moderately long (20 hours), but replayable with an added difficulty setting and trying to achieve 100% completion.

3. The Legend of Zelda: OoT: Another moderately long game.

2. Super Mario Galaxy: Around 20 hours on the first playthrough (collecting all 120 stars), but then you get to play again as Luigi! Sweet!

1. Sonic & Knuckles: Like Sonic 2, it's short, replayable, and lacking a save function.

Smeags, have you played sonic unleashed yet? blimey, the last level before the final boss where you play as both sonic and werehog takes about an hour, its good stuff , also the last boss is like 4 sections, eggman , dark gaia, dark gaia 2 and somthing like final dark gaia, its epic.

@Ronster

I haven't played it yet. It's actually #2 on the ol' Christmas list.

But I'm really looking forward to it, I've heard great things about the Sonic sections (and other things about the Werehog sections). But I'm glad that a fellow Sega fan is really enjoying it.

I'm not sure about my favourites, but they would all fall in as long (or for some, multiplayer)

My top 3 is (I can't chose 4 or 5 really, too many games that fight, but these 3 are definate, and in this order. :

OoT (Enourmous - my first single-player game (my 2nd overall), and I played it with my family. We used over 100 hours.

Super Mario Galaxy - I used 30 hours on my first playthrough, and 15 hours with Luigi too, so 45 on 1 playthrough really.

Twilight Princess (which is just huge - I used 80 hours on my first playthrough).

Edit:

Possible 4th place:

Pokemon Gold/Silver - I've played it over 150 hours, and that's still not as much as Blue/Red.

The sonic levels have BLISTERING speed, it truly has to be seen to be beleived, AMAZING.... and i actually like the warehog stages, nowhere near as bad as searching for chaos emeralds as rouge in sonic adventure 2....... i would give the game 9/10 and 9/10 for overall difficulty.

You'll love it, good tunes on sonics levels aswell.

And the presentation.............. one word............. WOW, the new sonic engine is great.

An idea game for me would be 50+ hours on the first runthrough without finding any secrets.

That was a living hell, I hated that, and it actually sort of put me off buying secret rings. I love the early Sonic (I actually find the games better than the early Mario ones), but that was just bad.

I love games that have a 10-15 main quests and then an extra 30 hours of side-missions. After mainquests go over 15 hour they tend to become bogged down with pointless filler.

Well , before you even consider taking on some of the bosses you will have to build up sonics and werehogs stats , speed ect for sonic and power, life ect fror warehog, the game has the usual side missions like helping the people in various parts of the world and helping them unlocks even more mini missions like completing a 2 minute long stage on one life....... a typical sonic stage is like 5 minutes to begin with when your stats are low but when you revisit some of the stages when your stats are high your talking 3 minutes, werehogs stages are typically between 7 to 15 minutes and are pretty good IMO, the latter sonic stages are like 8 to 10 mins long therefore maybe 5 mins when powered up, the last boss takes about 45 mins regardless of how good you are and the last warehog/sonic stage is 45 mins minimum and really is epic.......... overall this game could easily take over 50 hours to complete (including side missions)

I'm fine with a 10 hour game. If the quality is really good, then I'd say it's worth it. It's like a long interactive movie I guess.

Generally I like a game in length which is similar to that of Resident Evil 4.
With RPGs something of 50 hours or longer is usually good.
Games like Wii Sports, need to have replayable value. And I always find myself coming back to that all the time, so something like that is good.
