Forums - Nintendo - Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon thread of stats, characters and hardship

Shiida is a beast. I always hated Pegasus Knights, but she's insane. She's my Haar of this game (too bad for arrow weakness obviously).

Merric is also a beast. Much better the Soren initially.

Ogma is ok, but definitely not within the best 5 units. I also have trouble leveling Radd. He starts soo weak.

Frey and Abel are awesome. Barst is really my Boyd, his bad luck made him die of the Devil Axe a few times though so I stopped using that.

Castor is a decent hunter, but I'd like a better bowman.

You get a mage with better growth rates later on, but she starts ~6 lvls or more lower, but it´s definitely a good thing to invest on her. Abel is the only Cavalier I use and a good one. Initially my Cain was great but I ditched him because his Lance lvl was too low. I also wanted to use Radd frequently but again ditched him due to his low lvl and low lance.

Hey Rol Stopable I would just like to thank you for the advice. I was able to beat the final dragon without losing any of my guys. That was my first fire emblem game and I really enjoyed it. It was on of the best rpg's I've played on the GBA second only to golden sun. The ending was a little confusing though since I thought prince zekiel was a good guy? Anyways thanks again for the help.

I've picked it up, yet I'm afraid of playing it (I know I will just try everything again and again till almost nobody dies).

Fire Emblem games really should have a restart level option. Switching the DS off and retart all the way again is a chore.

I can't remember ever continuing if someone died, in all FE's I played.

Fire Emblem 7 (the one you just finished) is a prequel to Fire Emblem 6 (also on GBA, but never released outside of Japan), the story takes place 20 years earlier. In FE6 King Zephiel is the bad guy and Roy (Eliwood's son and a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Melee) tries to stop his evil plans.

So I can't play Fire Emblem 6 since it was never localized? So which Fire Emblem game would you recommend I play next? Also why did Zekiel become evil? He seemd like a very good guy that cared about his sister and his parents?

You can play Fire Emblem 6 on an emulator on your PC. Just patch it with a translation patch, and it should work easily.

6 is a great game. 7 is better, but 6 is tied with 10 for the 2nd best (my rankings are: 7 > 6 = 10 > 9 > 8 > 4 > 5).

If you want some help on how to get a GBA emulator working, and how to patch, I can try to help you, but be aware that I'm kind of crappy at the subject myself.

If you think that this is illegal, I believe it is. Still, you have no way of playing the game unless you do this. I wouldn't consider it a bad thing to do.

PS: If I am now breaking any forum rules, I apologize. I read the forum rules though, and they say nothing about this being a no-no. If it is, I'll accept a 1 day ban (as if I had any chance of not accepting?)

Using an emulator IS illegal if you don't own the game + system.

Why would you go hasseling with emulators if you can play 9 + 10 on Wii. These are masterpieces.
