Hey mates,

                     I want to drop a line here on something that fell into my lap today.

I was at my local GameStop and, while shopping, the workers there were opening some new boxes. Well inside one of the packages was a bunch of $429.99 signs of which one of the employee's asked his manager what those were for. The managers response was: "It looks like they are going to drop the price of the PS3 again."

I haven't seen this anywhere else on the net just yet, and I'm certainly not declaring this to be the truth on any level. This is just my experience that I had about an hour ago at my local videogame store. 

Dang, $430? For the...20 GB model?

It might be 20gb ps3's but they are selling them for $449.99, I hope it is the 40gb ps3 because it will spring sales up very fast.

Why would they sell it for 430 if they are selling it for 450? And besides they only sell 20gigs online.

Well, the 20gig is already on their site for 449.00 so I suspect that's a limited time offer on 20 gig models. 449 for a 20 doesn't make much sense. If you can justify 449 for a 20, you sure as hell can justify the extra 50 bucks for a bigger hard drive and wifi.

Used probably, good chance they lie and say its new.

I would actually argue the complete opposite ...

"I wonder if Sony can win back user support by the price cut of just $100," Kazumi Kitaue, the head of Konami's North American and European operations, told Reuters in an interview ahead of this week's Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, video game industry trade show.

"I don't expect a substantial impact," Kitaue said. "With $500, you can buy a personal computer."

When you combine low sales, unsure publishers and rapid price drops it will only give the impression that things are so bad that Sony has become desperate.

Are there a lot of used PS3s floating around?

You cant buy a used ps3 on the internet, and I doubt in stores...
