Forums - General - My 5,000th post! See you suckers in 10 days.

This is my 5,000th post, and to celebrate, I will be giving myself a 10 day vacation from the chartz.  And by that I mean my film finals are killing me.  It's all papers in which I over-analyze films, directors, genres, semiotics, culture codes, and bullshit.  I have 5 pages due Wednesday, 3 due Friday, 12 due Monday, and then 30 due next Thursday, the 18th, and then I'm done.

I swear they're training me to become an elitist film critic.  I might have to take a production class next semester just to get back into the swing of making films instead of over-analyzing them.  Don't let your friends get into film.

To keep you guys company until I get back, here are some photos from my trip to Puroland last summer.

All my dreams come true.

And here's the Polaroid I took for 500 yen at a maid cafe in Akihabara.  I couldn't understand 90% of what she said, but she stirred my noodles for me and smiled a lot!

Good luck to everybody else suffering from finals or other December problems.

Oh crap, I forgot that thread-starting posts don't count as posts.

Well now I look like a jackass.

So uh.... POST.

50 pages in ten days? So reasonable!

To lavish praise upon this title, the assumption of a common plateau between player and game must be made.  I won't open my unworthy mouth.

Those are some crazy cool pics! Way more cool than your 5000 posts!

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Nice pics lol. Looks fun

Are you still that skinny? :?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Bye rubang and congrats!

Puroland? Oh damn I used to live not too far from there when I was an exchange student in Tokyo. I never did actually go inside the place just to the bit front entrance walkway part, haha. (I'm not a big Sanrio fan ;-p )

I've never been to a maid cafe and I've been in Japan over 3 years now (counting my year as an exchange student as well ;-p )

Anyway, good luck with your finals!
