Forums - Website Topics - So is VG Chartz going to be using the 100% method for rating games now?

I hope not.

Games shouldn't be compared by minute detail; we just want to know whether games are worth buying or not. For me, F = Epic fail; C = Worth it for fans; B = Worth it for anyone; A = Must-have, high-quality game. That's it.

Why would you, as a consumer, change your buying patterns for a 1% or even 5% difference? Unless it's for fanboyism purposes, of course.

I hope not.

A 100 point scale is pointlessly accurate. There is no real way to differentiate between a 83 and 84.

PLEASE, stay with the letter grades. Provide an explanation for those who don't understand the American grading system.

The poll for last week was about how VG Chartz should rate there reviews and the scoring out of 100% using each points, cleary won.

In my opinion it's a much better way of rating, it gives you a more exact number so you know when X game beat's Y in the review lol ;)

So will the review method be changing?

I understand your point, but I don't like the idea of reviews trying to compare one game vs. anouther. I think it should be about is this game right for me. That is why I think the text of a review is better for helping me decide if I only have $$ for one game which should I buy.

There are plenty of ways to differentiate an 84 from an 83.

One is that an 84 is a B and an 83 is a B- :P

How about a 84 and 85?

How about a 84 and 85?

A game that is a little bit better than a game stradling the B/B- fence

Opinions a far too subjective to be that accurate.

Well, yeah but that's why meta analyses work, because they find a great looking average.

IMO, i liked the old pc magazine one where 3 people gave different scores and they averaged them

Can we start up the arguments about the scoring system again

I'd be willing to
