about 25 yrs :P
Something over 30 years.
Started in the mid '70s with tictactoe on a KIM, Adventure on an IBM mainframe, some wire-framed maze game on something I can't remember and, perhaps the earliest, hunting mugwumps on a giant digital/analogue hybrid machine in Bradford in 1974/75.
(gulp) oldest?
Since 1990, Atari 2600, NES, so for 18 years (yes I did start when I was two, yes I do remember the first game I ever played it was mario bros on NES)

Yes grampy could tell us stories of what life was like during the gaming depression of 1983 and how horrible E.T. really was!

I though I was an old gamer ...
Apparently it is true : The average hardcore gamer is 31 years old !
Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.
1998. 10 years. :D (Was gaming before that. But on DOS. Lol.) I got my Playstation 1 that year.
I remember playing first on Atari 512ST. It was in late 1980's, on a Breakout clone, Bolo.
Damn ! More than 20 years of gaming !
