My game of the Year-

Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the SONY Playstation 3 Computer Entertainment System

MAn, theres a lot of love for MGS 4. I really wish I could play it. But that game wasnt enough to get me to buy a PS3.

Of the games I have played I still say GTA 4. I thoroughly enjoyed that game and look forward to the DLC.

Meh. No way in hell I could ever give it to Gears 2 :/ It was good. But not game of the year material in my opinion.

I'd probably give it up to Little Bip Planet :P The game hit on plenty of fronts, had tons of content, a level creator, and some awesome levels online :3 It is what you make it ^^ and I support that :P

Another I might consider for it would be Resistance 2 :) The fluid mmo-style FPS cooperative work, or the absolutely insane 60 man matches is a pretty worthy adversary in my opinion ^^ And it's a game I've sunk tons of time into with the various modes and offerings :P A very multi-feeling game with some creative and technical pushes on the industry.

G4tv's awards GOTY pick was Fable2. But since I don't have a 360 I'm going for MGS4. But MGS4 won a lot of categories.

There are those that find GTA thoroughly offensive because we just don't think random acts of urban violence are an appropriate form of recreation. There are too many people living the real version of GTA and they don't seem to find it recreational. Making it Video Game of the Year just further supports the concept that this is accepptable or "heroic" behavior.

I've had the misfortune of having worked with the forensic pathologists and have seen the results the real life form of this behavior, and I just didn't find it amusing, compelling, exciting. It was the surviving family members screaming in anger and dismay, sights that turn my stomach to think about and smells that are best left undescribed.

Yes I know that many games are based on violence but it least it is in a different time period, a fantasy world, historic. We have kids now playing GTA inside a house while the real thing is going on outside their window.

Note: I have played the game, gave it a fair try. Found it distasteful and boring. But I'm voting against it not as a game but as a game that should never have been made.
