Well, LBP is already doing good.

The Christmas effect will last through Jan (well at least mid Jan... you know eople using their gift cards) and of course christmas will boost the titles.

Not really. The christmas effects pretty much ends at the week endings 5th January. As a matter of fact, January (save for the week that has some of last year's days in it, and the first 3-4 days), tend to be one of the least selling months.

 look at any game.

heres one example off the top of my head

http://vgchartz.com/swlaunch.php?reg1=All&game1=uncharted%3A+drakes+fortune+-+ps3&reg2=All&game2=&reg3=All&game3=&weeks=56&weekly=1

the 10th week is actually the last week of Jan. notice how after Jan it slows down and pretty much stablizes?

No. But they will sell well. LBP should do great.

Let's rather look at the WW SW sales, instead of just using anedoctal data that proves absolutely nothing.

January 11th - 7.2M

January 18th 08 - 6.6M

January 25th  - 7.1M

Average so far this year: 8.7M (actually slightly higher, as I just assumed 500K weekly from Ps2 + Gba, whereas Ps2 actually averages a fair amount higher).

So for 2008 at least, not true at all.
