I got the «3 red light problem» 5 times since i purchased my 360...(january 2006)

With that kind of «shit»...its no surprise the sale of the xbox 360 are going down!
So how am I lying?

You shouldnt have shipped it back.. There's another way to fix it, just grab a bathroom towel turn on the 360 with the red ring let it get SCORCHING HOT!!turn it off, and then take the towl off an it cools down fast, 30 minutes later its fixed :D

I am not sure whether you meant that to be a joke or not, but I laughed.

Sorry about your 360 man, I hope you get it back soon.  Your opinion on upcoming games is going to partially affect whether I buy another one or not.

Ughhh, no its not a joke it works...I even have you tube to back me up..

There's million of those videos it really works.

So your telling me my 360 didn't really break, and neither did millions of others? Edit: And that placing a towel on there will re-attach the bad soldering?

EDIT #2:  I usually refrain from exploding in anger and I will continue to try.  There are several different problems associated with the 3 red lights, there are also problems with the drives, system updates bricking systems (multiple system updates) and more ways for your 360 to break.  One thing like the Wii update at launch that bricked systems was at launch.  There have been only a few reports of Wii's overheating, where are all those Youtube videos, and even the PS2 disc read error is fractionally as common as the 360 problems.  The extended warranty only covers the three red lights problem.  Bull.  They manufacture a bad system, they don't pull the bad ones off of shelves.  They blamed user error for the first 17 months, and they blamed user error when the original xbox was burning down houses and KILLING people.(If it's user error hw come the other consoles of every other gen weren't burning down houses)  Than there is insider trading right before the announcements, where Bach didn't register his trade like he was supposed to, right before the announcement of losses.  It's rediculous, all of it, and I hope some of these people go to jail.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

I can say your story sounds a bit weird to me. Why would you be happy with your 360 if you can't play it? You would only be happy if you had a working TV. Then why can't you play the PS3 or Wii?

Do you have a TV that works or not?

it supposedly melts the poor solders back into place or something by the heat caused by overheating the console with the towels.

There is this one video where a guy picks up his red ringed 360 and slaps it a couple of times and turns it on to find it's working just fine.

QUICK someone call Microsoft and tell them, before they lose billions... Hurry, please. PLEASE!

Try it out sometime,

It's just loading very slowly at the moment.

well if it's a soldering problem it could make sens that overheating it again can fix it...... and hiting on it too... I never figure that one out but many time in the past I have made something work by punching it lol.... the most famous one is old TVs

I got the red rings 'finally' and just reported it to Microsoft.

I guess they're gonna send me some kind of package to mail it in.

Worse timing ever? Both Bioshock and Blue Dragon are coming in the next few weeks and I probably won't have my 360 back by the time they are released.

Very lame. Especially bad because I've been on a bad luck streak lately, first my tv gets weird problems then my PC can't start windows and now the 360 is screwed for a few weeks.

Basically I'm limited to only the DS right now, cause the PS3 has to use the tv to work and that thing has a huge black bar on it which makes playing it very crappy.

Either I get a new HD TV sooner than I expected with what money I got saved or I basically play nothing except DS games for the rest of the month at least.

Dam you got the red rings... deg man... dont feel bad i got the red rings last year... it sucked ass...

That's quite a bit of bad luck. I haven't posted here often, but I do come here everyday more or less, and it is clear that you enjoy games regardless of what system they're on, so it's unfortunate that your 360 had to die out before two big games come out (though I don't expect good things from Blue Dragon). Just curious, how long have you owned your 360? I have a launch one, but fortunately mine hasn't died [yet].

Unfortunately at least 90 percent of the people here cannot accept that my favorite console is the PS3 but that I also love certain games on all 3 consoles, some a lot more than others on the PS3.

I've owned a 360 since November, so it's been 9 months.

I am definitely not gonna be playing Metroid Prime with that black bar, it's specifically the kind of game where I can't work around it because I have to point at areas on the screen and shoot.

The thing is the thought of not being able to play much other than DS for the next month or so has forced me to buy a new HD TV just now even though I wanted to save up more money before doing that, but I think this will be best.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!
